Prepping For The Crisis

~~The world is on the precipice of some life altering events that will certainly change things for all of us. It’s anyone’s guess as to how the events will unfold and when, but when it hits it will be of upmost importance to be prepared. This is not going to be your average prepping article because I am not going to focus on physical preparation. Instead I am going to focus on the most important prepping that needs to be done: spiritual.
We all know that the most important things involved in survival are going to be food, water, shelter, sanitation, a means of communication, protection, and medicine (first aid). The same list of items can be applied to our spiritual lives. The time to prepare is now. For those who wait, it will be too late when the storm hits. The most important item on the spiritual preppers list is of course making sure that you are in a right relationship with God. If you don’t know Him or are living in a backslidden state, it’s time to get things right with Him now. Come to Him now in true repentance and surrender your life to Him. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, I John 1:9 (KJV). Now let’s take a look at the other items that need to be in your spiritual bug out bag:

Food: The word of God is our spiritual nourishment. “….It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God, “Matthew 4:4 (KJV).

Water: John 4:14 (KJV), “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

Shelter: If we learn to abide in Him we will have shelter from the storm. “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust,” Psalms 91:1-2 (KJV).

Sanitation: Cleanliness is of upmost importance when it comes to survival. Even a hint of infection can wreak havoc and even spread to the point of causing loss of life. We also have to ensure that we are staying spiritually clean. Keep a short account with the Lord and lead a lifestyle of repentance. Ask Him to search your heart and bring to the surface any unrepentant sin. “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:  And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting, “Psalms 139:23-24 (KJV).

Communication: Prayer is our vehicle of communication with God. If you don’t have a prayer life, how do you expect to communicate with Him? How do you get to know someone that you don’t even talk to? Remember that communication is a two-way street, so listening is just as important as speaking. We are entering a time where it will be imperative to recognize the voice of God. Your life will depend on it. Get to know it now before a crisis hits.  “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand,” John 10:27-28 (KJV).

Protection: What’s the use of having all of your supplies if there’s no means of protection? Your only place of refuge and protection is in the Most High. II Samuel 22:3-4 says it best, “The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.  I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies,” (KJV).

Medicine: You may be faced with dealing with a medical crisis or chronic illnesses but have no access to medical care. Many will need a miracle in order to survive Learn to put your trust in God now and it will not be hard to later. “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover,” Mark 16:17-18 (KJV).

Many are asking where the safest places are going to be or if they should even consider leaving America? My answer to this question is, the safest place for you to be is in the will of God. Seek God and ask the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you. Don’t just pack up and head to the hills because you heard someone on a YouTube video say so. The answer may not be the same for everyone, so don’t become dismayed if you see the Jones packing up and heading for South America and you haven’t been told to leave. Believe me, I would love to leave Babylon, but God has not told me to leave. Also if God is instructing you to leave, you need to be obedient. Don’t worry about how you will live or leaving your possessions behind. If He is telling you to leave He has a plan for you and will see you through. Seek His will above all and you will have peace.
