WEATHER BOMB! UK Getting Battered By STORM FRANK & 120mph WINDS!

Another day, another storm here in the UK! That’s right, its another named storm baring in on the UK and this time its going by the name of Frank! Storm Frank is set to bring 120mph and heavy rain as the crazy weather continues to roll in. This on top of the already flooded areas in Britain and we are set for a bad one. This storm, which I can tell you is picking up in its ferocity as I type this in Glasgow, is predicted to be worse that the storm of ’87 that killed 22 when winds reaching 115mph hit the UK. Little wonder they are calling this a weather bomb!

So, I can already hear you asking…. WTF is a “weather bomb”?

Well, the Express reports….

Low pressure systems frequently form in the Atlantic Ocean and are an intrinsic part of the British weather, driving our wet, windy and stormy conditions.

They are made up of a central area of low air pressure surrounded by rings of gradually increasing pressure, these show as ‘isobars’ on weather charts.

When the central pressure drops rapidly, usually over warm seas such as the North Atlantic Ocean or the Western Pacific, a more powerful low develops with much stronger winds.

A number of ingredients are needed to trigger a weather bomb – a strong jet stream must interact with a low pressure system near a warm ocean current.
