Devastating West Coast Megaquake Imminent Says USGS Scientist; "Beware The New And Full Moons"
Is “The Big One” imminent? Famed USGS scientist Jim Berkland, the man who predicted the Loma Prieta “World Series Earthquake,” has a terrifying warning for the West Coast of the US in the wake of massive earthquakes in Ecuador and Japan that have left hundreds dead, awakened volcanoes around the Pacific Ocean’s “Ring of Fire,” and kicked off earthquake swarms in Hawaii, Arizona, and Yellowstone National Park.
“Beware the new and full moons,” Berkland says in this exclusive interview. The “maverick geologist” says that 20 of the last 25 “megaquakes” have occurred on the dates of new and full moons, the result of “equinoctal tides,” extreme gravitational forces that cause solid earth to expand and contract much as ocean tides rise and fall.
Berkland says that he is particularly worried about the San Andreas Fault in the LA Basin and the Cascadia Subduction Zone along the coast of Oregon and Washington State, where a long overdue earthquake would undoubtedly be accompanied by a massive tsunami that could kill thousands and cause billions of dollars in property damage.

When a geologist states that an earthquake could happen “soon” or is “imminent” you need to understand that to a geologist 10,000 years is a negligible amount of time.
There is not enough data to even begin the process of accurately predicting large earthquakes in the Pacific Northwest. The idea that a large quake in the Pacific Northwest is overdue is an idea based upon a few observations of a few outcrops, but that idea is preliminary, at best. And the entire “Ring of Fire” theory is just that – a theory – maybe a good one and maybe not.
So, unless Mr. Berkland can provide concrete new data with cited sources and analysis indicating exactly why he is making his predictions and exactly what he is predicting, then this article is simply fear mongering. Yes, an earthquake could happen in California or off the coast of the Pacific Northwest or Mount Rainier could blow or dozens of other things could happen in the near future – and it could happen on the full or new moon. By stating that am I now an expert in earthquake and volcanic activity prediction?
For starters, I do not have the background, schooling or knowledge to offer anything of value besides an honest opinion. Although I’m inclined to disagree, Dave Hodges had two different Geologists / Geophysicists on his show explaining we are fracking under Yellowstone. Basically these powers that be are trying to see what happens when you mess with a SUPERVOLCANO. I cant believe what is happening today. We have lost all control and are at the mercy of these pSYCHOPATHS.
Prepare accordingly. It is best to prepare and nothing terrible happen, than to not prepare and a terrible event takes place.

Yep, a quake could happen in the next 5 minutes or 5 years…impossible to predict. Even swarms of quakes are not necessarily a good way to always predict.
When my CA house starts to rock n roll, I know then that we’re having an earthquake. Then I sit and wonder….is this the Big One?
