Old souls carry a baggage of lifetimes where they encountered darkness, poverty and abuse of power. So, you’re saying young souls are basically evil as a result of their ignorance?
I mean, if your argument is that old souls have experienced darkness, poverty, abuse and young souls seem to not be burdened by that, it would seem reasonable to assume that young souls are typically those manifesting the darkness, poverty and abuse, which you seem to relate to money and possession. That does sound kind of demonic.
I would like to believe that is not true, but I’m not sure I can.

This article says NOTHING about one being more or less evil than the other.
In simple terms: old souls have a harder time with abundance and manifesting because they’ve gone through more dark times. Young souls have it easier spiritually/energetically because they DON’T carry the extra baggage that old souls do. If I had my druthers, I’d be a young soul. The spiritual burdens are fewer.
