I would rather suggest a more realistic solution. Like they did to the Standard oil, the main stream media must be treated as totally different from any other corporation so that the government can break up the ownership of the MSM to many many small pieces. And the their stocks can not be traded in secret in the background.
Freedom of speech should mean equal for everybody and not proportional to their wealth. The reason Donald Trump won the election is because everybody has only one vote which is the true freedom of speech.
Now the hoarders of wealth trying to influence their power against the will of the people using the mass media is exposed fully at this point and this must stopped.
The possible way to curb this evil trend is to pass the law limiting the ownership of the MSM to not more than 5 % per individual or a party and put under the strict scrutiny by a totally independent governing body.
