I thought it was interesting that once again Comey decided to acknowledge the extent of the FBI’s ongoing investigation into the Russian hacking of the US election. He stated that he was given permission to do so by the DOJ! That begs the question, “Who at the DOJ?”
Sessions has recused himself, Yates is fired and the acting DOJ is an Obama appointee, Dana Boente. It all seems rather strange. I can’t imagine that Trump didn’t authorize indirectly what Comey could disclose. This is a huge misdirection by Trump to pacify the left by letting them know everything is now under investigation.
Now Spicer can just keep saying that it’s being investigated so let’s just see how it plays out. This could drag on forever! He also said that there was no timeframe that could be stated as to how long the investigation would take, but that there was NO evidence that the 2016 Election was affected in any way. Nunes also drove that same point home during his questioning which I briefly included.
Trey Gowdy had a 1st brief segment and then a longer more intense segment which runs to the end of the video. They are laying down a case to aggressively pursue the people in the FBI, CIA and NSA who leaked this information about Flynn, including Clapper, Loretta Lynch, Yates, Brenner, Ben Rhodes and others who were part of the Obama administration!
Now that we know there is no official time table (it could be years), the Media may have to let this go for the foreseeable future. The Democrats want to keep pushing the Wire Tapping tweets and the Republicans will continue to make this an issue of getting to the real crime which is the leaking of FISA gathered information of US citizens!
