Visual Arts in the After-time

…having arrived at a land dump where various pieces of junk are about

and could provide mechanical devices or shelter, if utilized creatively and resourcefully. How would you go about creating a comfortable home for yourself, and others, in such a situation?”

ZetaTalk: Barter System, Note: written Dec 15, 2001

Below is an example of artwork created from discarded material found in a city garbage dumpster. Let’s see if you can guess what material this artwork is made of and what object was up-cycled. I’ll show you how to make your own next time!

One of the useful skills essential to making an After-time home “comfortable” will be the simple ability to design, fabricate, and decorate living spaces by using whatever materials are at hand. Knowing how to add a splash of color without paint to a shelter or home consisting of a pile of junk, built by combining discarded objects in a certain way will become a much appreciated skill set. Transforming trash into something wonderful and beautiful, can brighten someone’s day, spark a happy memory, make everyone feel better, or just cause a child to smile.

In this current digital age, conventional arts-and-crafts projects may be considered old-fashioned, juvenile, or irrelevant by twenty-first century cultural standards. However, during the decades of recovery following the Pole Shift, how will survivors find entertainment and enjoyment during those long dreary days and nights when the Mp3, PC, CD, DVD, HDTV, HDR, VR, AI, etcetera, etcetera, become mostly useless in the rubble of the After-time?

As basic needs are addressed, and the new normal accepted, extreme expressions of fear, grief, anger, and loss will need to be confronted, hearts comforted, and harmful thoughts conquered. Perhaps most survivors will look around and see only horrendous death and destruction, landscapes littered with all manner of debris. However, others in the After-time will be visualizing the potential for new forms of creativity and positive self-expression. They will anticipate transforming much of the devastation into beautiful new art forms, both functional and decorative.

Ultimately, anything can become something else. Whatever has been made by mankind can be reused, remade, recycled, up-cycled, and re-purposed. Every man-made thing is made from some basic substance or raw material. When that thing is eventually considered to be garbage, waste, rubbish, or refuse, its value has been refused, rescinded, and declined. Such is the current mindset of super-abundant communities in a throw-it-away society. Where some unwanted or unneeded product with a preconceived value may be saved and stored, or perhaps given away, the time is fast approaching when all things and all materials will be considered valuable in some way. In that day when virtually every building, neighborhood, town, and city has become essentially a garbage yard, we’ll all consider how things can be re-purposed as something useful. But don’t walk away yet. Think about how that trash that is still rejected can be transformed into objects of art! The ability to make whatever is needed or desired from whatever materials are salvaged and scavenged, will become an essential skill, not only for those identified as artists, artisans, and craftsmen but potentially for every survivor.

“What the civilization of the future will be is open,

depending on the free will and motivation of those who can guide its progress.

It would be unfair to those who will be in a position to affect this to speculate.

This picture is to be painted by the artists.”

The artistic endeavor plays an essential part in human well-being and happiness. Art making can be a highly effective educational modality. I like to call such planned activities, “artivities”. Basic implements and simple goals will prove to be beneficial. Sessions may be adapted to suit every situation to elevate the quality of life. Decorative art treatments can enhance the appearance of distressed walls, broken furnishings, tattered clothing, gloomy enclosures, and even disfigured bodies. Finished artwork can become a token of hope for your whole community or a simple toy for a lonely child. Artivities can be a diversion from persistent misery, or a historical artifact documenting the new history. Beautifully made things and beautified existing objects can become valuable products for barter. Even if objects are not produced, the artivity itself is an enjoyable past time, and can provide physical and psychological therapy or mental stimulation for all ages.

Someone will invariably say, “But I can draw a straight line with a ruler!” The simplest answer to that argument is simply to not draw any straight lines. Contrary to what most people think, making art is as easy as writing your name. In fact every time you sign your name, you are drawing! Your signature, or sign-nature, is an expressive (artistic) marking of your unique personality. In the After-time, the incentive to learn, to participate, and to contribute will be high especially in service to others. The creative spirit is already in you! In fact, according to the Zetas, contactees are now experiencing enhanced creativity.

“Contactees are frequently discovered to be developing creativity,

seemingly as a result of their visitations…”

So, as life improves, anticipate being the survivor who will possess that seemingly magical gift that will help others feel better about persistent hardships and perceived realities. Art also has an amazing capacity for experiencing and expressing a healing sort of spirituality, as it resonates deeply within and stimulates the imagination.

“It is no small matter to have music, poetry, and art. This fills the heart of the musician, poet, or artist as much as the recipient. There will be much need for such distraction, as the days will be dim, and the nights dark and long.”

Did you guess that my toucan bird art (above) was made from a common grocery store plastic water jug and a button eye?

In the next post I will share more artistic creations from re-purposed plastic

and I’ll demonstrate how you may easily experiment with such techniques.
