You Won't Even Believe This Is Actually Illegal!
What if you and your neighbor entered into a mutually consensual voluntary agreement that, when you were gone on vacation you would pay their 9 year old 20 bucks a day to come over and feed and water you’re dog and take them outside a couple times a day. The kid’s parents are fine with it, you’re fine with it and the kid is ecstatic that he’s going to make some money on his very first job. Everybody entering into the agreement benefits…the dog benefits…everybody’s happy.
But what if you’re neighbor across the street heard about your deal and didn’t like the whole idea and decided to write you a note telling you that they forbid you from engaging in such a transaction? You’d look at that guy like, “who the heck are you to tell me what I can do with my own money.” We’ve made an agreement and it doesn’t concern you. It’s none of your business.
Right? You are an individual in control of your own life and all parties involved have entered into a voluntary agreement. No one was forced or coerced into doing something they didn’t want to do.
Right? Right.
