The Equatorial mount allows us to track the Sun using a single axis of rotation. This would be impossible on a Flat Earth with the Sun moving in a circle above us.
Equatorial mounts require accurate polar alignment which means facing directly a North / South and elevated to the local Celestial Pole by an angle equal to the Latitude.
This is so simple and it totaly proves that earth is a sphere of some sort. This telescope mount is expensive and precise, it does exactly what it was designed to do.
