Boeing 757's flight controls are HACKED remotely while on the runway
A group of security researchers has remotely hacked a Boeing 757 aircraft without the knowledge of the pilots, a US government official has claimed.
Robert Hickey, a Homeland Security cyber investigator, managed to take over the passenger jet on the runway at Atlantic City airport, New Jersey.
A Boeing official has said the test is unlikely to indicate a major threat to airliners, adding: ‘I’m not afraid to fly’.

Mr Hickey revealed the details during a speech at the CyberSat Summit in Virginia , after the plane was hacked in 2016.
He said: ‘We got the aeroplane on September 19, 2016.
‘Two days later, I was successful in accomplishing a remote, non-cooperative, penetration.’
‘[Which] means I didn’t have anybody touching the aeroplane, I didn’t have an insider threat.
‘I stood off using typical stuff that could get through security and we were able to establish a presence on the systems of the aircraft.’
Mr Hickey said his team used a combination of radio frequency communication to hack into the craft, but that details of the breach remain classified.
Switching the code in avionics equipment could take up to a year to fix and cost up to £1 million ($1.3 million), he added.
