I am pro gun but I am dead-set AGAINST Trumps ridiculous and DANGEROUS proposal! Teachers are NOT marksmen, they are NOT security personnel, most are NOT former military.
Picture this: a school shooting is going down. An armed teacher goes to supposedly stop this madman but once confronted with the REALITY OF KILLING A STUDENT OR OTHER PERSON, they freeze. You know what will happen next, that teacher is now dead.
Or what if the teacher shoots the wrong kid? Let’s say it was a kid WHO WAS ALSO ARMED FOR PROTECTION was going after the real shooter?
Solution? HELL NO!
Trump is NOT facing reality with this complex danger to our children! Get rid of bump stocks and assault weapons. Raising the age limit is NOT a solution. Assault rifles are exactly that: for assault. It is abundantly CLEAR what that weapon is for, it sure is overkill for protection. I am completely PRO PROTECTION but AR’s are appropriate for war only!

#ArmMeWith — Teachers speak out about what they really need in school. (Not guns.)
Teachers around the country are reacting to President Trump’s call to arm some of them in classrooms — and even pay them a bonus — as a way to prevent future shootings, by speaking out about what they really want.
They are calling it the #ArmMeWith movement, and their reactions point to the lack of resources that many teachers say impinges upon their ability to educate children.
Here are some:

The #ArmMeWith campaign has a message for Washington.

President Donald Trump has suggested that arming some teachers would help to stop deadly school shootings. But in a viral #ArmMeWith rallying cry, educators are calling on political leaders to “arm” them with they really need: books and school supplies as well as time and resources.
Teachers Olivia Bertels and Brittany Wheaton created the movement, USA Today reported.
“The vast majority of school personnel are uninterested in carrying a weapon into a building full of hundreds or thousands of children each day,” Bertels told the newspaper. “Those desires are not being reflected in the tone-deaf suggestions being made by lawmakers as a solution to America’s gun problem.”

President Trump gave a speech today discussing the subject of guns in the school.
He did not say he wanted to arm all teachers, just school police and those teachers with gun skills with military or law reinforcement background and etcetera. Get your facts straight. You are not helping the cause of protecting our children with your rhetoric.
Bullshit. Why no independent investigation of any of these shooting events? At the best, the locals at all events have proven incompetent and at worst, accomplices as in the SandyHoax. This one stinks just as bad. Before any changes are made, someone needs to learn the truth once and for all.
The coward or stand down deputy at Parkland proves that just randomly arming people is as useless as tits on a steer. They have to have the courage and integrity to do the job in the first place.
Well we saw how great law enforcement performed at this. They sucked from the Local Deputies all the way up to the FBI. Since the teachers were putting their necks on the line already, might as well give them the training necessary to protect themselves, others and neutralize a threat. They are already in harms way whether they admit it or not. Let the teachers decide, not someone bureacrat who is already protected by armed guards. Even if they never use it in a classroom setting, they will benefit from it greatly. Self defense is the first law of nature. God gave the animals Horns, Claws, Fangs, Venom, Neorotoxins, Camoflague, Great Strength to protect themselves and ensure their survival. Take that away and they will go extinct like the dodo bird who were clubbed to death for sport. A dogs growl is not eloquent, but it is forever effective. I challenge the author of this piece to read Boston’s Gun Bible and educate himself BEFORE writing another piece publicly. It’s a great read and you will be forever enlightened.
