Mr. President,
In the wake of political correctness demanding fairness, equality and protection it is time to demand fairness, equality and protection for you and for the person who gives White House briefings.
It is not fair, it is not equal and it does not protect you or your spokesman/woman when the media vultures get an unlimited amount of time to prepare their questions, while your spokesman/woman gets no time to prepare responses. It is not fair that the media does not hold any of their own accountable to the public for any ill-stated question, but publicizes your spokesman/woman’s every slip of the tongue and every contrived allegation they can muster after spending hours of examining every word; phase, pause and facial expression of your spokesman/woman.
The media knows in advance what they are going to ask. Your representative should know in advance what he or she is going to be asked and have time to prepare answers to those questions. Otherwise, the odds are stacked so much in favor of the bias liberal media that it is only a matter of time before your representative says something poorly that gets you in trouble.
Demand fairness. Demand equality. Demand protection. Demand that the questions the media already knows they are going to ask and the accusations they already have worded in their favor and against you be submitted to your spokesman/woman, at least, two to three hours in advance. Then, he or she takes the podium and reads the question or statement as it was submitted, along with identifying the author and gives an answer to the question or a response to the statement.
That will get rid of most of the unfairness, most of the inequality and provide some protection for you and your representative. And, it will wipe the smug looks from the faces of the reporters. When they complain all you have to do is use their words against them. “I am for fairness, equality and protection of a person’s rights. Aren’t you?”
You could also cite national security. It is not fair to our country to place a person with top-secret clearance on the spot where he or she might slip up and say something that will endanger national security.
It is time to use political correctness to your advantage and to America’s advantage.
