Tariffs Causing Trade Crisis

President Donald Trump has imposed new Tariffs on many nations for steel and aluminum. These Tariffs have been met with anger by all! Mexico has responded by placing Tariffs on pork bellies, grapes, apples and flat steel. The US Senator for Nebraska had this to say:

“This is dumb … We’ve been down this road before—blanket protectionism is a big part of why America had a Great Depression.”

Europe and China are equally furious, after seeing the following headlines this morning:

French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire had this to say:

“We will not accept that Europe be struck with tariffs on steel and aluminum. We are allies of the United States. We are friends of the United States and we do not want to be struck with aggressive measures, such as the tariffs,” “So, we will see what our decision will be depending on (US) President Donald Trump’s decision, probably by tomorrow during the day,”

German Economy Minister Peter Altmaie also weighed in.

“Europe is united and firm. We have worked in an extremely intensive manner in recent weeks to avoid the increase in tariffs, to allow for an evolution towards freer markets. But we are also prepared to react,” “We know very well that this is about avoiding a trade war… But to attain this goal, it is extremely important that Europe’s message be clear and united,”

Military strategists in the US are worried that these moves by Trump are causing them to lose allies quickly, while the USD continues to lose power on an international level due to Trump’s bullying to keep their allies “in line”. They worry that it is putting the US in a bad position and could leave the remaining western allies in a World War. China seems to be attempting to rally European and Eastern countries against the US with this coming Trade War and some warn that this could send the United States down the same situation of Israel in regard to global power and control.
