New York Showdown! Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez vs. the Richest Man in the World?

There’s always such a temptation to rush in and take one side or another without considering all the facts.

Ron Paul used to have a placard on his desk which said, don’t steal, the government hates competition. Ocasio chavez probably has a placard on her desk which reads, Killing jobs, babies, wages and capitalism – my socialist plan for the future.

While The Young Turks might as well change their name the AOC fan boy club… there are a lot of people hoping that Comrade Alexandria continues to stay off her meds as she reveals more and more that, in her delusional mindset, she’s dead set on ruining the country and destroying people’s lives.

But in the case of Amazon scraping their plans to build a headquarters in New York there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Now here’s the break down…real quick.

Amazon was looking for a new headquarters spot.

Long Island looked like it was going to be the place.

Political criminals Andrew Cuomo and Bill De Blasio welcomed Amazon with open arms. The state was willing to give up 3 Billion dollars in tax incentives in order to entice Amazon. But Ocasio-Cortez and her radical business-hating minions played a supporting role in convincing Amazon to pull out of a deal that would have brought between 25,000 and 40,000 jobs to New York City with an average salary of more than $150,000… which would have generated more than 27 BILLION dollars in tax revenues. Yeah… more money the state can steal and squander to increase their power over the people.

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, was not the main player who led Amazon to cancel plans to build a second headquarters in New York City though. In truth, political malpractice by Democratic leaders on the state Senate was a much greater factor.

And while anybody with a heart and a mind with at least two brain cells to rub together resists the insanity flowing from camp Cortez…it should be understood that Amazon is not some free market company that ascended the corporate latter purely through hard work, innovation and voluntary interaction with customers. Much like wal-mart, Amazon is a corporate welfare recipient. They are the beneficiaries of a socialistic wealth redistribution scheme that enables them to rise above and crush their competition…. all made possible by your friendly neighborhood government. So, while you have the Cortez faction of government supposedly going against the titans of industry as she claims to champion the cause of the little guy, you’ve got criminals Cuomo and De Blasio licking their chops to bring Amazon into town. Tucker Carlson made a point worth considering in regard to this back in November. (clip)

So think about this. Bezos, the owner of Amazon and the Washington Compost fake new journal, directly benefits from government intervention. The government steals your money, cuts a deal with Bezos…. Bezos increases political power and clout, accepts the plunder that was stolen from you and moves their thriving, state protected, state-funded corporation to your town. Where they enter the ranks of the protected class, eliminating any and all competition and as an added benefit have politicians on a short leash as they assume their corporate boot-licking roles (clip)

And I hate to admit it because you know what I think about Cortez, Fox news, CNN and every mainstream media outlet that launches their distract, deceive and divide techniques on the public. But truth is truth and facts are facts. And as appealing as 25,000 economy stimulating jobs might be to a certain locale…some factors need to be assessed. (clip)

Now let’s paused for a minute. There are some (like the Young Turks) who argue that reducing the power of the government will only leave individuals even more vulnerable and at the mercy of powerful mega-corporations, like Amazon, than ever before. Given the large role that economic insecurity plays in the anxiety that leads many people to look to political institutions for protection, it makes sense that the power of large corporations would be concerning. However, this fear is based on an incorrect conflation of political and economic power that misunderstands the way in which the state distorts the dispersion of market power.

At its foundation, state power is based on coercive power; the ability to compel people to carry out commands by physical compulsion or the threat of physical compulsion. The essential feature of government is the enforcement of its decrees by beating, killing, and imprisoning.” In stark contrast, FREE market economy businesses, whether large or small, do not derive their power from an ability to beat, kill, or imprison customers or employees. Rather, legitimate businesses acquire the resources that make up their market power by satisfying the demands of customers who engage in VOLUNTARY mutually beneficial exchange without that aid of a violent third party entity. In other words, businesses only have the power that is voluntarily allotted to them by their customers.

That is NOT the way corporations work. Corporations derive their power from the state’s coercive power. Under that scenario, honest businesses who exist under free market principles are penalized with regulatory burdens that corporations won’t experience with their sweetheart government deals…thus the elimination of competition by the force of government.

When the state interferes with free trade…this is the kind of things that happens. Literal monopolies are formed and the balance of power is forcefully manipulated to the other side of the board.

that’s a salient point. While it may look good to have 25,000 people throwing 150,000 bucks each into the economy…there are no free lunches. There’s a cost involved in that arrangement. All you have to do is as the question. Que bono…who benefits. Not just short term benefits…but long term ramifications.

In my assessment…this was spot on. And While the smiling face of wealth redistribution socialism continues riding her green new deal donkey through town as it craps all over our streets, there are factors that need to be considered before condemning the exodus of Amazon from New York.
