General Peter van Uhm stepped down from his position as ted Chief of Defence (CHOD) and transferred command to Major General Tom Middendorp on 28 June 2012. During the transfer-of-command ceremony Peter van Uhm was made a Commander in the Military Division of the Order of Orange-Nassau and was made a special aide-de-camp to Queen Beatrix.
