Arrested for Preaching the Gospel in Public!

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

About the video: This happened a little while ago, apparently. I just saw it this morning and wanted to share it with you. Even if you’ve seen it..watch it all the way through because I’ve added some VITAL info everybody needs to see…so they can be better informed. No matter how old run-ins like this are though…the same timeless principles apply for all people in all ages. The old adage is true: Rights are like muscles, if you don’t use ‘em, you’ll lose ‘em! And…it’s really not so much that we each have “rights” (whatever those are) it’s more along the lines of speaking from the inverse of that. In other words, nobody else has the right (or the legitimate or just cause) to violate another individual who’s not harming, threatening or stealing from someone else. Thoughts?

Call out the ARMED militia and ARREST these deluded brainwashed corporate non-contstitutional enFARCERS.

Oh wait, you never did create the armed and well-regulated Militia under your 2nd Amendment rights, did ya?? :???:

OK so all i see is a picture of a man apparently being arrested.
What is he charged with, what is the story?

Whatever it is, Jesus would have practiced passive non-resistance.
If the guy really is serving God, God will look out for him.
Sadly, far too many Christians have made public nuisances of themselves by forsaking the gospel in order to take part in social and political activism and have given those who really DO server God a bad name.

I thought jesus overturned the tables and threw the moneylenders out of the temple. Not too passive…

        • Rockledge

So he had a temper tantrum.
He was a Rabbi, and had authority in the Temple. Flipping over tables that were an abomination in the Temple is hardly an aggressive act, and was not only symbolic of His making a point, it also ended the problem that day.
He didn’t physically assault anyone ( and didn’t need to, again, He had natural human authority in the Temple, being a Rabbi) and did nothing violent.
Any time Jesus was confronted by public officials of any kind, He submitted to them. EVERY time.
And He also was not being arrested or being assaulted Himself, He was merely excercising His authority as a Rabbi and His disgust, being as He also had the authority of being God in the flesh.
He also was not dealing with the local government, He was dealing with His personal human level of responsibility in the Temple.
          He was defying nobody.
Again, He was expressing authority over those he had authority over.

If it was some guy raving at the top of his voice about how a pink unicorn died for our sins he would be taken to a secure institution.

Because this guy is raving about some non-existent idol you seem to defend him. Why?

This is not about rights anyway,it’s about disturbing the peace. Would you want your kids to be near such a fruitcake? They would be scared to bits.

It always baffles me that it is those who are of the Atheist religious persuasion who are the most aggressive in trying to impose their religion on others.
As if they themselves do not believe the bullshit they spew and are constantly trying to convince themselves they are right.

        • plsnogod

Almost amusing rockledge….to call the lack of religious belief ‘bullshit’,when you actually sing and talk to an imaginary man in the sky is absolutely priceless.

To call an atheist aggressive in the face of what horrors have been committed by the ‘devout’ is also delicious irony.

You have a complete misunderstanding of atheism. It is not a belief or a faith or a recipe for life. It is simply the declaration that there appears to be no evidence whatsoever for any of the many gods people prostrate themselves to.
As an atheist, I comment on the stupidity and nonsensicality of religion only because of the tremendous harm it does to our species.

However, you carry on spending money and time on praying to something that only exists in your mind if it helps you. I just feel sad on your behalf that you have this delusion.

            1) I don’t sing, I am very much a musician, songwriter, and composer, but singing is not a gift I have.
I get others to sing the lyrics I write to the music I compose.

            2) Although it is true , religion is often used as an excuse to commit attrocities, the religion I align with is Christianity, and true Christians do not resort to or support violence of any kind. Sadly, just like other religions, Christianity is often hijacked for political purposes. That is not Gods fault. That is on the heads of men, who are often incompetent to lead countries, religion, or much of anything else more often than not.

            3) Atheism is very much a religion. All religion is is the quest to discover who is at the top of the intellectual chain.
Abrahamic religions believe God is, Asian and middle easter religions believe that various idols and bodhisatvas are.
Atheists believe THEY are. Which, I have heard those of the atheist religion say they believe in flying suacers, which in itself is a contradiction, if they believe there is a civilization that has discovered far more than we know about space travel and are capable to observe us, then that is who they think is at the top of the intellectual chain.

            4) Stupidity is far more obvious in the atheist faith than in all others, it is closed minded to the point of not allowing consideration of the higher intelligence that is obviously in control of the universe ( only a fool would think all of this “just kind of happened) and completely ignores true science and the world around them. “First there was nothing, then it exploded” simply does not make good sense.
Studying physics, such as the laws of thermodynamics, medicine, such as how bacteria functions, and what little mankind can glean from what we see through telescopes most certainly, to any rational logical human being, implies a creator.
Again, the close mindedness of the atheist faith is baffling. Agnosticism I get, and it makes sense, but atheism? It doesn’t make sense at all.

            5) You seem to make reference to some religion that involves a pink unicorn. I am not familiar with such a belief, but just because you tried out one religion and it didn’t work for you doesn’t mean all religions other than atheism are void.
Atheism is just as bogus as other false religions. I suggest doing some homework and considering another choice rather than keeping your mind closed.

Even a small child can look at his moving hand or birds flying and assume that all of this shit didn’t just “happen”.
