Eye Damage Caused By Long-term Mask Wearing

Hours of eye mask wearing is causing dry eyes becasue the long-term use of masks causes escaped air flow to cross eyes with each breath cycle, drying the eyes. In addition, masks interrupt normal blinking, a necessary and otherwise (without a mask) automatic function of the body. The proposed solution is to have air tight mask so the exhaled air (including the waste designed to exit the body) is continually re-inhaled hour after hour, thus not passing out the top of the mask and over the eyes, drying them out. The long-term effects of constantly inhaling all exhaled waste is yet to be discovered, but be assured that will be learned. You might be the first to get severe lung damage and/or other respiratory damage and be the lucky one to let us all know what diseases are in store for others.

In the meantime, the long-term effects (damage) of continual dry eyes are “…scratches on the cornea, the clear, dome-shaped surface in front of the iris. The cornea is a critical component of the eye, protecting it from dust, germs and other dangerous elements. The cornea is also responsible for screening out harmful UV rays. Over time, corneal scratches due to dry eye can produce scarring and result in permanent vision loss…the eye(s)…lost.” (2)
