  Just in time for the social media purge of 2021. I want to talk about a new alternative in social media.  Since 2009 I have been interested in social media platforms and have installed and run many scripts to learn what I can do in terms of customization and user features to create an interesting alternative to Facebook.  I was interested in the way that the old original MySpace worked back in the day when we could use html and css to customize our user profiles, and for the life of me why MySpace overhauled itself and did away with that I can not understand, since this is still to this day an interesting concept.  Furthermore and more important is the kinds of user tools that I figured people would need to make the most of social media, and what I suppose interested me the most was the idea of having a full rich text editor for Post content, which would be even better if it had the ability to use html source code.  And maybe a simple sort of alternative post update feature or window like most social media sites have, and hence two methods of posting content.  But the rich text editor idea was something I believe that users would appreciate since it would enable them to write post such as you see at a WordPress site or here at Before It’s News.

  Eventually I come up with something that provided me with a little of everything I want in a social media platform, yet mostly the rich text editor idea was the focus.  Hence this is what Dansgate is about, where we allow our users to drive the platform where they want it to go, with free speech content.  Where they have publishing tools that rival other platforms, as well as have groups and the other typical social media features.

  Another thing that we have which we like is the fact that when you post Youtube videos at our platform that run live in the news feed.  Unlike Facebook where you have to click on the video and travel to Youtube to view the video, your friends can watch the video in the news feed or on your profile, and comment there.  This keeps our users engaged and in the network which is where people tend to want to be when they are at a social media site.  Furthermore since our platform uses HTML5 this means that you can use the latest html tags such as the new html video tag to post most every source of video where other social media sites tend to not be able to embed videos from obscure sources such as Banned.video however you can embed  them at Dansgate.

  At Dansgate we pledge to continue to advance our platform with the most useful features that our developers can envision to empower our users.  We pledge to provide you with the best of features.  Our vision is one where we want to provide something more useful to those who want to make the most of the content they publish.  We want you to be able to engage your friends and  those who follow you, with content that rivals other platforms.  Hence we have a different vision of what social media can and should be, and this vision is what we are.  Please consider joining us, and  take time to experiment, it does not matter if your first experimental post are nonsense, its how you learn.  Also, it is perfectly fine to have fun, to create music playlist, and to invite family and friends.  We after all have a vision of user driven content, not defined content such as Facebook provides with their Community Standards.  We are nothing like Facebook nor Twitter and never will be.
