Republicans are not known to walk in lockstep. We have various factions within our party, coming together after the votes are counted. Democrats, whose appropriate symbol is the jackass, are a single resolute monster, kicking and belching venomous hatred while preaching diversity, though veering from the party line is lethal.

Not all Republicans initially rallied around brash New York businessman Donald Trump in 2015. He was a political outsider who had switched parties as we were looking for a dedicated conservative after enduring years of Barack Obama and his deceitful henchwoman, Hillary Clinton — who despite being mired in countless scandals was his anointed successor.

When Trump won the GOP nomination, emerging victorious in a crowded field of 17 aspirants, we listened closer and liked what we heard. Most of all, we appreciated that following his 2016 election, he kept his campaign promises. Under the Trump administration, the economy soared to historic heights and unemployment fell to record lows. Everyone benefited…until the Chinese lab-created virus hit. Now blandly known as the Coronavirus or COVID-19, it was initially called the Wuhan virus, named for the province in China in which it originated.

America was thriving. Then the bubble burst in March 2020 with businesses enduring forced closures, schools shuttered and restrictions relegating Americans to their residences, only able to venture out wearing protective masks. Unemployment soared and virus-related deaths skyrocketed.

President Trump took charge. He assembled medical experts, provided daily televised updates and vaccines were made available in record time through “Operation Warp Speed.”

On Wednesday President Donald Trump was thanked for his efforts with an unprecedented second impeachment in a 232 to 197 vote, fallaciously charged with “inciting an insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol last week when mobs stormed the building wreaking havoc and several people lost their lives.

The article of impeachment charged that the president, “gravely endangered the security of the United States and its institutions of government.” So compelling was this dishonest claim, ten go-along to get-along Republican members of congress, colluding with democrats, voted for the impeachment less than a week before his term expires. This was not about ensuring national unity, it was a fireball of vengeance and retribution against a man who inflamed their collective ire for having the temerity to be elected by the vast majority of Americans.

The ten republicrats who voted against the president are political unknowns, willing to make a name for themselves by embracing democrat skullduggery: John Katko (NY); Adam Kinzinger (Illinois); Fred Upton (Mich.); Jaime Herrera Beutler (WA); Dan Newhouse (WA); Liz Cheney (WY); Peter Meijer (Mich.); Tom Rice (SC); Anthony Gonzalez (OH); and David Valadao (CA).
