Road Trip to Death - Gabby Petito Missing No Longer - Autopsy Confirms the Body Is Gabby Petito (Videos)

21 September 2021 UPDATE — Forensic evidence confirms the body found at the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area of the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming is the missing woman Gabby Pertito. The Pathologist has given a preliminary ruling of homicide as cause of death. 

What started as a summer cross-country road trip appears to have taken a tragic turn for travelers Gabby Petito & Brian Laundrie.

The FBI and other authorities confirmed on 19 September 2021 a body has been found at the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area of the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. The physical appearance of the body is consistent with the description of the missing Long Island, New York, woman Gabby Petito. If the identity of the body is forensically confirmed in the upcoming autopsy as being Gabby Petito, it will be a sad ending to her young life.

12 August 2021 — Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie were involved in a domestic incident while driving, resulting in Moab, Utah, police conducting a roadside stop and recording the encounter on their bodycams – The footage shows the couple and presents details of the personal incident between Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie

19 August 2021 — Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie launched a YouTube channel dedicated to their van life road trip, but only one video was uploaded prior to Gabby’s disappearance

21 August 2021 — Gabby Petito’s Father ordered an Uber Eats delivery for the couple who were staying at a motel in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the time

24 August 2021 — Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie were seen together as they checked out of the motel in Salt Lake City, Utah

24/25 August 2021 — Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie stopped in Victor, Idaho, where the couple said they were interested in going to Yellowstone and shared the information they were engaged with the owner of the Rustic Row shop

24 August 2021 — The last call made from Gabby Petito’s cellular phone using FaceTime – The location of the call her Mother received was from the Grand Teton National Park — last picture posted to Instagram shows Gabby in front of a painted mural of monarch butterflies in Ogden, Utah

27 August 2021 — A post on social media by family travel vloggers, Jenn and Kyle Bethune, shows the Ford van Gabby Pelito and Brian Laundrie were traveling in parked at Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area of the Bridger-Teton National Forest

29 August 2021 — A couple (the female posts on Tik Tok) claims they picked up Brian Laundrie hitchhiking alone in the Grand Teton National Park of Wyoming — Brian Laundrie was offering money for the ride, but only traveled 15 miles before demanding to be dropped off, claiming he would find another ride

30 August 2021 — Gabby Petito supposedly sent a text message to her Mother, stating lost cellular service in Yosemite – Stands as the last text message supposedly sent by Gabby Petito from her cellular phone

1 September 2021 — Driving the Ford van used by the couple for their road trip, Brian Laundrie arrives back in Florida alone, no Gabby Perlito with him

11 September 2021 — Gabby Petito was reported as a missing person by her family to authorities in Blue Point, New York

13 September 2021 — initial coverage done by Florida News Station WFLA News Channel 8 concerning Gabby Petito. Brian Laundrie was not a person of interest at the time of this coverage, only identified generically as Gabby’s boyfriend on the footage of the Petito family making a public plea for Gabby’s safe return

14 September 2021 — Brian Laundrie, supposedly drove his Ford Mustang to the T. Mabry Carlton, Jr. Memorial Reserve (Carlton Reserve) area and went hiking

14 September 2021 — Authorities executed a search warrant on the impounded Ford van used by Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie for their road trip which had been removed earlier from the Laundrie home

15 September 2021 — Authorities request a warrant to search the Laundrie home

15 September 2021 — Authorities officially name Brian Laundrie as a person interest in the case of missing Gabby Petito

15 September 2021 — The Laundrie family went searching for their son when he did not return from the Carlton Reserve hike – They discovered his car in the parking lot, tagged by police for being parked there overnight – The Laundrie family left the vehicle there so their son, Brian Laundrie, would have transportation when he finished his hike

16 September 2021 — The Laundrie family returned to the Carlton Reserve and removed their son’s car from the parking lot 

17 September 2021 — The Laundrie family reported their son, Brain Laudrie, to authorities as a missing person

17 September 2021 — Authorities entered the Laundrie home to talk with Brian Landrie’s parents, and departed carrying some bagged items

18-19 September 2021 — Authorities responded to the report of Brian Laundrie as a missing person by starting a search of the Carlton Reserve area starting from where the Mustang had been left parked before the Laundrie family removed the vehicle

19 September 2021 — An FBI Conference is held, announcing the discovery of a body in the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area of the Bridger-Teton National Forestof Wyoming – The appearance of the body is consistent with the description of the missing Long Island woman Gabby Petito – There is no final forensic confirmation the body is Gabby Petito

20 September 2021 — Florida police reported they have “exhausted all avenues” in the search for Brian Laundrie at the Carlton Reserve, and were calling off the search 

20 September 2021 — Court authorized search warrant was served on the Laundrie home where Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito did live with his parents, and where Brian Laundrie returned in the 2012 Ford van without Gabby Petito – Brian Laundrie’s Ford Mustang was impounded

21 September 2021 — The autopsy is scheduled to be conducted on the body found at the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area of the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. The physical appearance of the body is consistent with the description of the missing Long Island, New York, woman Gabby Petito, but must be forensically confirmed.

21 September 2021 — The FBI has renewed their search for Brian Laundrie at the Carlton Reserve in Florida. The FBI Denver team has arrived and is managing the ground effort which includes the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park portion of the Carlton Reserve.

The Florida News Station WFLA News Channel 8 has been doing continuous periodic live stream videos covering the events concerning the disappearance of Gabby Pelito and the search for Brian Laundrie, still called a person of interest as of 20 September 2021. While the lawyer for the Laundrie family keeps on saying Brian Laundrie has now also gone missing, appears more likely Brian Laundrie has just gone deeper into hiding and is possibly on the run. Brian Laundrie knows exactly where he is as he hides from authorities.
