That was back in the 1970s.

Since then the CIA and other spooks have flooded TV, Hollywood, book publishing, and the news media with hosannas to themselves.

It’s hard to assess exactly how involved the CIA is involved in the current catastrophe but clearly, their methods are being employed today here in the US and against US citizens.
