AZ Newspaper Foolishly Hammers Use of Inmate Labor

A felony is committed. With diligent police work, the perpetrator is located and arrested. Next, evidence is presented as the defendant is tried, found guilty and sentenced to prison time.  It‘s an unfortunate scenario, repeated with increasing regularity across the United States, as leftist elected DA’s have implemented catch and release policies, if they impose any penalties at all. Law Enforcement Today acknowledges the steep rise in crime in 2022 as police departments are defunded.

Arizona’s dying leftist newspaper has printed a weeklong series of articles bemoaning the fact that incarcerated prisoners are being “exploited” as outside laborers. Presumably the lunatics/editors running the asylum/newspaper would prefer the inmates stay in their cells around the clock. The reports focus on the inmates doing manual labor rather than office work and instead of building their resumes, as they provide labor to cities and towns, which the four reporters who collaborated on a recent report, view as allowing towns to “live beyond their means” since the criminals are paid low wages. Taxpayers provide inmates lodging, food, clothing, soap, shampoo, toothpaste and the system the newspaper berates allows them to be out of the prison complex, where juries sent them for crimes they inflicted on innocent citizens. A stand-alone blurb states, “Using cheap prison labor keep maintenance costs low in this Cochise County city of 3,213. But what about the inmates’ needs?”

Seriously!

The inmates lost their right to freedom when they chose to engage in lives of crime. The likelihood of these criminals desiring to stay in their cells is remote. Reporters Joseph Darius Jaafari, Jimmy Jenkins, Justin Price and Geoff Hing earn their salaries writing drivel. 

But it doesn’t stop there. The newspaper is actually recruiting people who have been incarcerated to relate their “experiences and opinions” for future exposés. SRAZ has chosen to omit the absurd link. Instead we direct our readers to the far more reputable New York Post‘s report by Isabel Vincent, “How George Soros funded progressive ‘legal arsonist’ DAs behind US crime surge.“ It reveals the funding the multi-billionaire Socialist has been infusing into undermining prosecutor’s and law enforcement agencies throughout the nation for years.
