I generally love what SG says about geopolical topics. However, this discussion about the “firmament”, implying that the earth is flat or near flat, is utter nonsense. This nonsense destroys his credibility on all the other things he says. As a retired airline captain with tens of thousands of hours of time, as well being as a perpetual student of physics, astronomy and the weather, I can state unequivocally that the earth is a sphere ( albeit not perfectly geometric one as it bulges within the lattitudes of the equator). No one is trying to deceive on this topic, not NASA, not the global elite, not politicians. Get over it and move on. It is what it is, the earth is a sphere and it is eminently observable in a multitude of ways.
Now with respect to an unwavering commitment to the notion of a “Firmament” dome, if they are trying to interpret this from the Bible as an ultimate truth, perhaps much more energy and focus should be given to words, deeds and sacrifice of God’s son, Jesus Christ. There is far too much focus (and misinterpretation) on the notion of a Firmament as an ultimate truth from the Bible when there is the paramount message and consequence to the whole of the Bible, that is, the revelation of God and His plan of salvation for mankind through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
