A.S.S.

Throughout recorded time people have held onto ideas and beliefs long after the ideas have been proven wrong. The psychic enforcement of superstitions and the consequences thereof have been piling up for millennia, as well as the more obvious cultural and political piles. These assertion piles are not new, however with continuous suppositions piling up they can become overwhelming and prevent understanding. The very word understand implies we must clear the pile of assertions and suppositions.

The piles of assertions and suppositions are not new, our access to information related to all subjects and objects is new. We are in the information age, now hyper modified by AI and potential quantum technology.

We could forgive and provide sympathy for people who let the piles take over their lives in any other time past, but today it is questionable and marks delusion flaws rather than adaptive humanity. To fall into the pattern of doing so is Assertion Supposition Syndrome, a state of insistence and imaginative ideation in which one piles new suppositions onto an assertion which has been proven wrong or illegitimate in order to maintain belief system dependent on false assertion.

Science as a modality of thinking seeks to crush Assertion Supposition Syndrome, A.S.S. Yet scientism on the other hand would be supported by those presumably in a state of A.S.S. 

The only way to become intelligent is to remove stinky ideas with appropriate fresh ideas, to be rid of assertions and not to build suppositions from a corrupt falsehood. Intelligent people appreciate being proven wrong so they can remedy their perspective, and thus be more approaching right and true. And yet if you have A.S.S. all that goes down the drain.

People with A.S.S. vehemently hold their beliefs even after being proven wrong via multiple streams of facts and principles. Proverbial echo chambers become so solidified that new annunciations of the original stink are pronounced in the said echo chambers, or bubbles. New and even more wild suppositions are stacked up as if on the proverbial manure pile and reality, truth is obfuscated by the propensity of preposterous.

The old assertion stinks and new suppositions have to stink in line with old assertions. New suppositions are stacked onto old assertions in order to maintain the idea structure of the original pile. A.S.S., as expected, ultimately results in an eventual olfactory blindness due to immersion in seriously stinky ideas and the adoption of wild suppositions is no longer even sensed. And A.S.S. is not limited to one or another perspective, like all the variations of scientism.

The psychological root of A.S.S. is the dependency on group acceptance. So whatever group the individual desires acceptance from is the ideation adopted. A.S.S. develops depending on the stagnation of individual perspective and assertion stench potency. Luckily there are people, like writers, who seek not group acceptance, but the truth. Writers are perhaps best prepared to observe and note A.S.S. via the inevitable series of rejection of their own ideations and creations, so as to be particular about ideas they hold and not to hold them too tightly. A good recommendation for writing and for clearing A.S.S. is mindfulness of not repeating tropes and phrases which come in of short statements as well as repeated summations.

I want to use two oppositional groups and a certain developing paradigm circumstance which can illustrate total A.S.S. A.S.S. come in many different forms and any of us, if we are not consistent in being mindful of variety in our media diet might have a case of A.S.S. every now and then.

The trumpery of Trump supporters depict A.S.S. most vividly, though we can find it all over the world. The original assertion is essentially that Trump is an honest person who can ‘make America great again.’ Years of suppositions based on the original assertion have people avoiding information on Trump’s attempts at stealing a presidential election, stealing top secret information, and potentially seeking to hold office more to benefit his greedy schemes than to purvey ‘the American dream.’ Suppositions akin to Trump being a savior from Heaven out to save us from the global cabal with his time travelling son and John Kennedy Jr. is piled up to quell information counter to facts and to hold onto the original assertion.

Another ardent assertion, this one predominantly on the left, is the ideation that The U.S.A. and The West in general are to blame for Russia’s imperial state murder and resource adventure in Ukraine. The mental gymnastics involved in ignoring the fault of the invader and overt aggressor requires piles to contradict world history. The collectivist tyranny inflicted upon Ukraine variously by powers in Moscow over the last century is a history unto itself as well as the many centuries of the past. Ukraine actually means border or borderland and invaders from The East venturing Westward is a centuries long predicament there. Assertions that NATO is evil and that Nazis are in control of Ukraine have to be put forth to hold onto the original assertion. So while Russians inflict horrors onto Ukraine and Ukrainians many suppose that Putin is fighting the NWO and fighting for all things holy. The suppositions that must be made to divert blame from the evildoers, the invaders, are as wild as it gets.

Lastly the paradigm predicament that humanity finds ourselves in is so wild to speculate on that it is important to remind people that hundreds of highly credible military and political leaders have brought the paradigm to attention, not some reject writer. They have said that The USA, and likely other government institutions have been in possession of extraterrestrial technology and high technology which could bring the entire world from out of oligarchical collectivism and institutional repression and resource restriction. The suppositions that will arrive to counter this paradigm are entertaining and going to become more and more wild in all likelihood.

There are many who come across as nihilistic and contrarians, but this is really, merely their own variation of ideation, of A.S.S. These individuals, even when faced with what is recognizable truth will cast it as lie because of their original assertion and subsequent suppositions. There are so many variations that let’s say you share facts on how Monsanto and Roundup are poisoning the environment as are the genetically modified crops, for food, modified to withstand exposure to Roundup, many will supposit that ultimately it is OK to consume because government, or some other supposition.

So, expand the variety in your diet and get some fresh air with your fresh ideas. And call out your friends when they are piling up ideation and presenting with A.S.S., they’ll thank you later.
