Our History
Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded by Fran Stuart and Doris Aldrich in 1982. We operate in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Mission Statement
Pug Rescue of New England’s mission is simple. We find homes for abandoned and surrendered pugs in the six New England states. We accept pugs of any age, condition, or situation. Our pugs will be updated on all shots and treated for current medical needs before being adopted.
The PRoNE Family
Our rescue is foster home based and our volunteers have a vast knowledge of the Pug breed. Veterinary costs far exceed adoption fees collected each year. PRoNE is supported by donations, the PRoNE 5K, the Annual Pug Social, and other small fundraising events at Petco and other local pet supply stores in New England.
In 2011 PRoNE rescued 100 pugs and spent more than $60,000 on veterinary care.
Once a pug is surrendered to PRoNE it becomes a part of the PRoNE family. Any pug adopted from PRoNE may be returned to us at any time for any reason. We are committed to surrendered pugs for the remainder of their lives.
