Famed Cat To Receive Farewell Broadcast On Radio Station She Helped Create

It has no doubt been a tough year for Cat Galaxy, the first and only radio station for cats in existence. But, when the famed station for cats lost one of its owners and creators it was a tough recovery. Although Isis received a quiet ceremony and burial at Safe Haven For Animals an honor given to very few cats, equipment issues at the station prevented her from receiving the memorial broadcast she very richly deserved. It also has been a tradition at the station for the feline staffers that have passed to receive one.

“It really has taken a long time for us to recover from her death but she would have wanted us to move forward. Now that we finally have new computer equipment online we can move forward with having a broadcast that has been long overdue. We loved her and she’s still very much missed. There are moments where we feel she is still here. No doubt she’ll still be listening and guiding us from the other side,” said station owner Nohl Rosen.

It was back in 2001 when Cat Galaxy first went on the air after Rosen was made aware of Isis’s love for music. Isis was also made manager of the now famed station for cats and after her passing her brother Icarus took over her duties and has been really good in carrying on her legacy. Since the station’s inception Cat Galaxy has not only entertained cats around the world but it also has helped get cats adopted locally in the Phoenix area, given a voice to local no-kill cat rescue groups and tried to raise awareness to the plight of feral cats.

Isis’s memorial broadcast is scheduled to take place live on the station on December 29th from 10am – 12pm Arizona time.
