Rare Bird Alert: July 26, 2019

The continuing Antillean Palm Swift on Grassy Key, Florida was still present as of July 24.

Two Plain-capped Starthroats were found in the Huachuca Mountains in Arizona this week. One at Ash Canyon, and the other northeast of Sonoita. The Common Crane in Coconino, Arizona continues. A Red-footed Booby was seen in Santa Cruz, California, and the Little Egret continues in Cumberland, Maine.

A Common Wood Pigeon photographed near near Romaine, Quebec on May represents a first province, and first ABA Area record, if accepted.

Montana had its first  Rivoli’s Hummingbird  at Glacier NP this week.

Missouri, and Tennessee both had the same American Flamingo first seen in New Madrid, TN, as first state records.

Ontario birder Victor Serrano found a Black-bellied Whistling Duck at the Leamington marina.

A Black-faced Grassquit  was discovered in Monroe, Florida.

A North Carolina woman found a Masked Booby sitting on a beach in Dare, NC.

A Laughing Gull was seen in Queens, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island was visited by a Black-necked Stilt found in Borden.

A Bar-tailed Godwit was found in the bay area of California, in Alameda, and in Colorado, a Costa’s Hummingbird was found in Jackson.
