What Is The Trinity

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

The trinity has always been an interest for me, which has pushed me into a lifelong quest to gain understanding into this ideal.    I was first introduced to the Holy Trinity at a young age in my bible study classes; I certainly did not understand what it meant but it was a very compelling idea.  The Trinity is explained in the Bible as God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus the Son.  I guess what is most interesting about this explanation, is that none of these three can be experienced directly, but quite literally as a feeling, a belief, or an intuition.  I am not suggesting that I can prove or disprove the existence of the Trinity as outlined in the Bible, but what I am saying is that this message may very well be allegory or written to portray a different meaning than the written words.  My studies of the Bible have shown that there may several meanings of a passage in scripture: the literal meaning, the allegory, or the secret code.  Jesus was portrayed to speak in parables, or to state it differently, in a hidden meaning.  My understanding is the many of the early Christian writers also wrote their texts in a sort of code because they were subject to persecution for what they were preaching and teaching about.  Basically, only those who were familiar with the coding could translate or understand the real meaning of the texts.

Regardless of the myriad of explanations, translations, or meanings that circulate our world today, I believe that the Trinity is very much related to the levels that make up our own human existence.  The other night I was out patrolling my operational area for a mission I am on, and I noticed something strange in the darkness of the night caused by the shadows of the flood lights behind me.  I snapped the picture above with my phone because it just struck me that I may be seeing the three different elements of “my trinity”.  What if the biblical story was talking about the actual Trinity, and at the same time, talking about our own elements of a balanced human existence?  When I look at the picture above, I cannot help but see three different levels of my energetic body.  What stood out to me was that I was seeing my physical body, my mental body, and my spiritual body.  What is interesting is that each of these layers has different densities; the first or physical body, would certainly be the darkest one in the picture, because we cannot help but be most connected with our physical existence.  The next layer up is the mental layer and the last is our spiritual body. What if the Bible passage was meant to speak to us about the magic of combining all these layers to become the perfect soul?!  I would like to believe that if scriptures are divinely inspired, then the words of the supreme maker, could only incorporate great and many depths to the message.

I challenge everyone to read any holy scriptures, from any and all religions, with the idea that there is a deeper meaning to the passages than the face value of the letters.  And I also challenge you to pay attention to all the hidden messages that are introduced to us every single day; you never know when your God will present something that just stirs your soul!

The Athanasian Creed, a text of great authority as a source of Catholic belief may help you dear “superpsychic” to bring some peace to your incertitude concerning the Holy Trinity, one God in three divine persons. The text (of the Creed) will be uploaded at the end of this comment.

The existence of the three distinct persons of The Father, God and Lord; The Son, God and Lord; the Holy Ghost, God and Lord is never sufficiently well explained, because it is incomprehensible to our limited human mind, however it is spoken in both the Ancient and New Testament. An existence which is also directly mentioned by Jesus Christ, the Son about His Father, and the Holt Ghost, the Conforter or Paraclete. In particular there is a time when Jesus Christ addresses to both other divine persons: It is among the last seven words of JCOL on the Cross. In those seven words, the first and last address the Father; the second and third to “man” (the good thief and His mother); the sixth to Himself as God acquiescing that the sacrifice has been fully accomplished to the satisfaction to the divine Justice, and then there is the Fifth Last Word (of Our Lord on the Cross) which proves that the Son addresses to both the TWO OTHER PERSONS OF THE TRIUNE GOD. Those are the mysterious word of St. John’s Gospel: “Eli, Eli, lamma shabacthani” (the tongue of Our Lord), and repeated in the vernacular as “My God, My God, why has Thou abandoned me?” Why did the evangelist (inspired by God) wrote twice what mend the same? Answer: in order to certify that Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity address to both the Two other divine Persons who are the Father, and the Paraclete.

As promised, in order to attempt at bringing some peace to the incertitude of the author of the article “What Is The Trinity”, we upload the full text of the Athanasian Creed. St. Athanasius -feast May 2- also known as Athanasius the Great and Athanasius the Confessor, was a bishop and doctor of the church. He is called the “Father of Orthodoxy,” the “Pillar of the Church” and “Champion of Christ’s Divinity.” Athanasius became one of the most dedicated opponents of the heresy of Arianism.

Whoever wants to be saved should above all cling to the catholic faith.
Whoever does not guard it whole and inviolable will doubtless perish eternally.
Now this is the catholic faith: We worship one God in trinity and the Trinity in unity, neither confusing the persons nor dividing the divine being.
For the Father is one person, the Son is another, and the Holy Ghost is still another.
But the deity of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is one, equal in glory, coeternal in majesty.
What the Father is, the Son is, and so is the Holy Ghost.
Uncreated is the Father; uncreated is the Son; uncreated is the Holy Ghost.
The Father is infinite; the Son is infinite; the Holy Ghost is infinite.
Eternal is the Father; eternal is the Son; eternal is the Holy Ghost:
        And yet there are not three eternal beings, but one who is eternal;
as there are not three uncreated and unlimited beings, but one who is uncreated and…

as there are not three uncreated and unlimited beings, but one who is uncreated and unlimited.
Almighty is the Father; almighty is the Son; almighty is the Holy Ghost:
And yet there are not three almighty beings, but one who is almighty.
Thus the Father is God; the Son is God; the Holy Ghost is God:
And yet there are not three gods, but one God.
Thus the Father is Lord; the Son is Lord; the Holy Ghost is Lord:
And yet there are not three lords, but one Lord.
As Christian verity compels us to acknowledge each distinct person as God and Lord, so catholic religion forbids us to say that there are three gods or lords.
The Father was neither made nor created nor begotten; the Son was neither made nor created, but was alone begotten of the Father; the Holy Ghost was neither made nor created, but is proceeding from the Father and the Son.
Thus there is one Father, not three fathers; one Son, not three sons; one Holy Holy, not three spirits.
        And in this Trinity, no one is before or after, greater or less than the other;
but all three persons are in themselves, coeternal and coequal; and so we must worship the Trinity in unity and the one God in three persons.
Whoever wants to be saved should think thus about the Trinity.
It is necessary for eternal salvation that one also faithfully believe that our Lord Jesus Christ became flesh.

For this is the true faith that we believe and confess: That our Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is both God and man.
He is God, begotten before all worlds from the being of the Father, and he is man, born in the world from the being of his mother — existing fully as God, and fully as man with a rational soul and a human body; equal to the Father in divinity, subordinate to the Father in humanity. Although he is God and man, he is not divided, but is one Christ.
He is united because God has taken humanity into himself; he does not transform deity into humanity; but by taking humanity unto God.
He is completely one in the unity of his person, without confusing his natures.
For as the rational soul and body are one person, so the one Christ is God and man.
Who suffered death for our salvation.
He descended into hell and rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
At his coming all people shall rise bodily to give an account of their own deeds.
Those who have done good will enter eternal life,
those who have done evil will enter eternal fire.
        This is the catholic faith.
One cannot be saved without believing this firmly and faithfully.

Speaking about matters of God, is indeed a very serious matter! A short moment ago, while in meditations and prayers in the oratory, this miserable typing hand got told of an error made onto the “4 comments” made earlier about this article “What Is The Trinity by superpsychic”.
I so, filled with confusion, fired-up the computer in order to redress the error.
The error is into the lines about the “Seven Last Words of Our Lord on the Cross”. The lines unfortunately mixed the “Fourth Words” with the “Fifth Words”. It is in the fourth (of the last 7 Words) when JCOL address the two other persons: the Father & the Holy Ghost separately into one single sentence (this is why the evangelist used both the Aramaic and the vernacular). The “fifth words” (I thirst) is when Our Lord speaks to Himself as “a man” to express His own physical & moral thirst: He thirst for water & He thirst for human love.

We’ll use the occasion to add that there is a perfect symmetry in those Last Seven Words as to whom each of those sacred words address, as well as a total lack of superflue. Each words of Jesus Christ was perfect for each occasion throughout His ministry which had began while the age of 12 in the Temple with the doctors, until He gave-up the spirit.
Symmetry: the 1st & last address the Father: the 2nd & 3rd address “man”: the 4th address God in the First & Thirst divine persons: the 5th & 6th address Himself as both into His humanity and His own divinity. Here is the “symmetry” where nothing is redundant. Truly Our Lord Jesus Christ was the perfect Word of God!
