To the Church in Philadelphia

7“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

8I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

9I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—

I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.

10Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.

11I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.

12The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.

13Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Time of Testing

1 Corinthians 10:13-16 states that we all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being.1 God will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial we face so that we can bear it. Each test is an opportunity to trust Him more, and along with every trial, God has provided for us a way of escape that will bring us out of it victoriously.3Genesis 22:1-2 states that God tested Abraham to teach him that man does not live by bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.0 From time to time, the Bible says that the Lord will test the righteous, and we should see them for what they are and do our best to pass them with flying color

June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month, which celebrates and commemorates the movement for LGBT rights and celebrates LGBT culture.0 The first Pride March in New York City was held on June 28, 1970, on the one year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. The month-long celebration demonstrates how LGBTQ Americans have strengthened the country by using their talent and creativity to create awareness and goodwill.1Pride Day is celebrated on June 28 as a sub-holiday during Pride Month, but different communities celebrate it on different days throughout June. With parades, festivals, and concerts going on across the globe, there’s always some way for people to get involved and learn some important social history along the way.2
