Nile River Turns Red

The Nile River, a lifeline of civilizations since antiquity, has undergone a startling transformation. Its waters, traditionally a life-giving blue, have inexplicably turned red, drawing the eyes of the world to Egypt’s storied riverbanks. The phenomenon has set off a cascade of interpretations, from apocalyptic prophecies to scientific inquiries, as people grapple with the implications of this sudden change.

According to Exodus 7:20, the Nile River turned red when Moses struck it with his rod, causing the fish in the river to die and the river to smell so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. The description of this plague in the Bible indicates a truly supernatural event. Modern reports of rivers turning bloody red do not match up with the end-times prophecies of Revelation, as the tribulation has not started yet

Thus says the Lord, “By this you shall know that I am the Lord: behold, I will strike the water that is in the Nile with the staff that is in my hand, and it will be turned to blood. So Moses and Aaron did even as the Lord had commanded. And he lifted up the staff and struck the water that was in the Nile, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, and all the water that was in the Nile was turned to blood. The fish that were in the Nile died, and the Nile became foul, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. And the blood was through all the land of Egypt.
