10 Awesomely Bad Food Packaging Designs That’ll Make You Say “WTF?”

It’s so bad it’s good. Those food packaging designs you can’t believe got approved, printed and sent off for the world to laugh at.

How many people did this go through before they said “Yep. We nailed it.”

You may not be an expert on packaging but you won’t be able to stop yourself from saying ‘WTF’ after seeing these product design fails.

1. How Many McNuggets?

You’re hungover at 2 am and all you can think about is a 10 piece Chicken McNugget.

But have you ever noticed there aren’t 10 nuggets on their brightly decorated box? Go ahead, count ’em.

2. 100% Beef Made of Chicken

White Castle is guilty of a food package fail, too.

With a seal boasting of 100 percent Beef you’ll notice it’s Made with All White Meat Chicken– so which is it?

3. Campbell’s Failed Math Class

Side by side these tomato soup cans look identical.

Look a little closer and you’ll see they both claim to be 30 or 40 percent bigger! Food and drink branding and packing design is definitely not their forte.

4. Jell-O Failed Spelling

After trying a new packaging strategy, Jell-O began printing: “Frown is a four letter word” on all of their foil lids. Frown and Jell-O each have five letters.

Yeah, all of their package products had it printed it on them. On purpose.

5. Cannibal Jam

Funny food labels usually come as a printing mistake–but not for The Family Fruit Basket LLC. They proudly boast their jam Tastes Like Grandma.

Now would be a good time to call your grandparents. You know, to make sure they’re still alright.

6. Just Wanted Some Guava Juice

The person who got stuck with this Rubicon packaging fail got lucky.

While the cap may not have led to that sweet nectar, there is always the lone opening to suffice.

7. A Very Telling Fortune

Where is the fun of opening a fortune cookie if it’s already out in the open for you?

The only thing more ironic is the fortune itself! Someone did a good job, it just wasn’t this cookie company.

8. Yellow Watermelon

This is the strangest Watermelon you’ll ever see. Some say it tastes great with salt and butter.

Not to be confused with corn–which you may recognize as the green and red fruit of summer.

9. Two for the Price of None

You have to admit seeing a neat red bow over two extra hot dogs is like winning the lottery!

Not only do you…wait a minute. Bamboozled again.

10. Merry Easter

Christmas music is playing, the tree is lit and you can’t wait to eat the chocolate inside your stocking.

You peel back the foil and two long ears appear. Is this recycled chocolate from April? What happened to the real Santa? I guess you’ll never know.
