1. Cork Stamp

We’ve all heard of regular stamps and perhaps even rubber stamps. But have you ever heard of cork stamps?

Yes cork: the stuff that makes wine stoppers and the material that magically floats in 8th-grade science labs. Portugal happens to be the top producer of cork, so they decided to create a stamp made of very thin cork to commemorate this in 2007.

2. Wooden Stamp

Even stranger than a cork stamp is a stamp made of actual wood (sure, cork comes from trees, but it’s not quite the same, is it?). The country of Switzerland created a stamp made of fir tree wood in 2004. They’re actually quite cool looking, and each one is unique.

3. Chocolate Stamps

Don’t get your hopes up: the physical stamp itself isn’t made of chocolate. That would be a messy disaster that even Willy Wonka wouldn’t attempt.

However, the smell and taste of chocolate are divine, so why not put it on something you have to touch and sometimes lick to use? The UK Royal Mail service created 3 flavors/smells of stamps: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate.

When you buy a full set of 24, they look like a real chocolate bar.

4. Meteorite Infusion

These stamps are literally out of this world weird. These Austrian stamps infused meteorite dust from a meteorite found in Morrocco in 2006. Seems like a strange way to use something that literally came from outer space, but it did make arguably the coolest stamp in history.

5. Crystal Stamps

If you’re looking to send a fancy letter or a classy package, why not class it up even more with a Swarovski crystal embedded stamp? These are limited edition stamps: only 800,000 were made.
