1. The Mind House, Barcelona, Spain

The Mind House resembles a fairy tale village of two gingerbread houses, each featuring a toadstool and numerous additional whimsical details. One of the houses has a cross-shaped window, gray and white checkered rooftop, and three towering stories and an attic.

Outside of its gates, there is a long and winding staircase with the fountains, Catalonian coat of arms and a huge mosaic lizard, which is now known as the symbol of Barcelona. The staircase leads to the rooftop of a terrace embedded in the hillside.

Originally intended to serve as an English garden village, the obscure located thwarted plans, but one of the most creative architectural designs remains.

Built by famed architect Gaudi, the area is now home to Park Guelle.

2. The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy

Today, many wonder how the Leaning Tower of Pisa has managed to survive, withstanding multiple earthquakes and even two world wars. But, the monstrous tower continues to defy skeptics and remains open to the public for tours.

3. House Attack, Austria

This addition to the Austrian museum, MUMOK, was created through the joint efforts of artist Erwin Wurm and Museum Moderner, Kunst.

House Attack has been the center of much artistic buzz due to the humorous depiction of a house slammed into the building’s side.

The Vinos xPoint community was created by the U.S. government to store bombs and munitions in the early 1940’s.

The Museum of Contemporary Art is centered in Rio de Janeiro and serves as one of the city’s most recognized landmarks.

Picasso, Max Ernst, Rodin, Brancusi and other artists are on display in this impressive concrete and glass building in Flamengo Park. Guests can also dine at one of the area’s finer restaurants, which is also housed within the museum.

9. Rotating Tower, Dubai
