Unbelievable But Surprisingly Effective! 15 Weird Gadgets Ever Made

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

You might have heard of Thomas Edison – the man described as America’s greatest inventor. He was the man that lead humanity to use light bulbs, motion picture cameras, and such.

However, he didn’t always invent stuff that pioneered the human race into a new age. He also had some weird inventions, like a talking doll or a ghost detection machine.

Today, there are many with minds like Thomas Edison, but only in terms of creating weird gadgets. Still, they can be pretty useful when you use them right.

Read on to see the weirdest products ever made that you might have a use for.

1. BetterBack Lower Back Support

You wear this one while sitting; it has support for your lower back, then it loops on your knees. This makes it almost impossible to slouch as it realigns your spine and stabilizes your pelvis.

While it looks weird to everyone around you, it helps you stay on the correct posture while working and such. It also helps prevent back pain, which is often due to poor posture and assuming the same position for hours.

You can even wear it for only 15 minutes a day, which will help improve your posture at a slow pace. Soon, you’ll then be able to assume the correct posture without its help.

2. Momshand Butter Slicer

This tool made of silicone stores 1 stick of butter at a time, helping keep it fresh. Its main use, though, is for making uniform slices of butter for whatever you need. It helps you measure butter for use in your baking recipe or if you want a slice enough to cover your whole your toast.

The lid becomes a slicing tool that can cut straight down soft butter without any sharp side. Plus, you can use the handy measurements at the sides as a reference, making sure you get the same amount each time.

3. Selfie Toaster

During the peak of selfies in 2014, Burnt Impressions released a toaster that “prints” your selfie into the bread itself. It works like any other toaster – you push the bread down, and the toaster leaves a burnt imprint on your bread, but in this case – the imprint kind of resembles you.

You’ll have to use a custom grilling plate, though, which you can get from the manufacturer itself. It doesn’t connect to any device, so you won’t be able to use any selfies from your phone.

4. The Whizzinator

The Whizzinator resembles a penis and it has a similar function, too. It’s a novelty item that streams pee – intended as a prank or gag gift. It also comes in different colors: such as white, latino, brown, and more, so you can make sure there’s one that fits you.

The Whizzinator had its height of popularity in 2005, but it had a different use as it was from a different company. Many people used it for faking drug tests, and so it became one of the subjects of consequent hearings on the “Subversion of Drug Testing Programs.”

5. SweepEasy Scrape and Go Broom

Food, tape, mud, and other stuff may get stuck on the floor and won’t move with a simple broom. Often times, you’ll have to crouch down to pry them off with your hands or with a tool.

This is the problem that SweepEasy aims to solve – the broom comes with a retractable scraper that will scrape off these materials for you without you needing to crouch down. The plastic scraper is safe for all floors, too, including hardwood, tiles, and such.

6. Shampoo Brush

If you don’t have any problems with shampooing your hair, that’s because you haven’t used a shampoo brush yet. It’s an item you never knew you needed – it comes with thick bristles that distribute shampoo in an even manner.

This also allows you to use less shampoo for your whole scalp, helping you save money in the long run. It also doubles as a scalp massager that stimulates blood flow and an exfoliator to keep the flakes away.

For these reasons, it can make your hair grow healthier and it can help hair grow faster, as well.

7. Levi’s Commuter x Jacquard by Google Trucker Jacket

This smart jacket is a collaboration between Levi’s and Google, which aim to make cyclists’ lives a little easier. With this jacket, cyclists won’t have to reach for their phone to get directions or listen to music.

They only have to tap the sleeve of this jacket, which contains a removable module. This contains all the electrical components powered by Google’s Jacquard technology. Without the module, you can still use it as a stylish jacket on-the-go.

8. Smart Belt

If a smart jacket isn’t enough for your craziest gadgets needs, consider this smart belt by Belty. It’s smart in a way that it adjusts itself by tracking the waist size and such using a smartphone app.

It can expand and tighten on its own, depending on how big your lunch was. It looks like a normal leather belt, but it costs over a hundred bucks.

9. Under-Desk Foot Rest

This one looks outright weird, but it’s pretty useful if you spend most of your time in front of your desk for work. You set up this product underneath your desk using hooks, and then you can rest your foot upon it – like a footstool.

You can use it to stretch your legs when your position becomes uncomfortable, and you can use it as a footrest. Doing so, you help improve your blood circulation in your legs and feet while sitting and working.

10. Reusable Paper Towels

Paper towels, although easy to use, are bad for the environment as they promote more waste. If you’re not ready to cut your paper towel usage, though, but you want to help the environment, these washable paper towels by Bambooee might be right for you.

Like a regular paper towel, this comes in a roll with 30 sheets you tear off one by one. Once you wash them, though you can store them like a kitchen cloth.

You can reuse each bamboo sheet up to 100 times, which helps reduce your carbon footprint. They’re more absorbent, too, and stronger than your regular paper towels.

11. Bone Fone

This weird tech is from the ‘70s, resembling none of the products today; you wore it like a scarf around your neck. The company JS&A intended it to be a less bulky alternative to headphones for people on-the-go.

It worked like a pair of headphones, but its idea was that it resonated the sound through your bones. It also claimed to be able to provide a high-end audio system experience even when outside, such as when jogging or on your way to work.

It claimed you could even wear it under your shirt and you could even do headstands while wearing one.

12. Himalayan Salt Block

If a normal serving tray isn’t cutting it for you, you might consider the Himalayan salt block set by Zenware. At first look, it’s like a bulky yet pretty tray, making any food you serve on it Instagram-worthy in an instant.

Still, as a salt block, it has the added benefit of adding a hint of salt to your food as well. You can serve hot or cold food on it, and you can even use it for cooking food like steak and more. You can then serve it right there and then by using the Holder to transport the food to the table.

13. Beard Bib

One of the problems of any man sporting a glorious beard is the beard trimmings on the sink when they’re done grooming it. This can lead to a messy bathroom and some serious discussions with roommates or spouses.

With the beard bib, though, they don’t have to worry about trimmings scattered all over the place anymore. Like a bib, you wear it around your neck, and then you attach the other end to the mirror using suction cups.

When you groom your beard, it catches any trimmings before your sink does. When you’re finished, you only have to funnel the trimmings into the trash.

14. SoloWheel

This one is the cousin of the hoverboard, called the SoloWheel. As you would have guessed, has a single wheel.

It has foldable flaps where you can put your feet on, which means you can fold it up when not in use. This makes storage and transport easier, and the wheel itself has a pretty slim profile.

It has a maximum speed of 10 MPH, and its battery can run up to 10 miles, which is great for short commutes and quick errands.

15. Avegant Glyph

You’ll look weird while wearing this one, but the Avegant Glyph is a weird technology that’s pretty neat in actual.

It resembles a pair of headphones, but you wear it over your eyes. It then beams images and videos straight into your eyeballs, stimulating an experience similar to watching TV.

According to the company, it feels like watching a 60-inch TV from 10 feet away with the use of virtual screens. It’s useful for long flights or when you don’t want others to see what you’re watching.
