For some, one crazy day at work can be enough to walk out. For others, it’s a slow build-up of unreasonable demands from the boss over time.

Here are 6 of the craziest corporate policies in the world.  

1. Wear a Tracking Device

If you’re an Amazon employee, your boss can now track every move you make.

That’s because the company is now using wristbands installed with tracking devices. 

The idea is to steer workers towards the correct items and bins for packaging in warehouses, making the inventory system more efficient. However, as well as tracking hand movements, it can also report workers’ locations at any given time. 

2. Leave Your Phone at Home

Evernote is one of the most popular apps for professionals these days, with lots of business people downloading it on their phones. However, those who work for the developer are asked to leave theirs at home.

Chief Executive Phil Libin banned phones from the office because he thinks that they create barriers to communication. If you want to send a message to a coworker, you’ll have to get up and walk to their desk instead. 

3. Remove Your Facial Hair

For the New York Yankees, facial hair is a complete no-no. 

The baseball team has a strict appearance policy, which requires all players to be clean-shaven. 

4. Share Underwear

Working at Disney World may sound like it’s all fun and games until you realize you have to put on someone else’s used underwear.

Until 2001, that’s what the people underneath those cute character costumes had to do. 

This is because the costumes included Disney-issued tights, jockstraps, and underwear. At the end of the day, each employee would turn theirs in and pick up another set the next day.

This all changed when some employees complained of contracting pubic lice and even scabies. In response, the company changed their underwear policy. 

5. Go Naked on Fridays

Instead of enforcing a strict uniform policy, one company in the UK asks its employees to strip off completely at the end of the working week.

The optional policy was introduced on the advice of a psychologist, who said that removing clothes would also allow workers to remove their inhibitions and communicate more effectively. 

6. Quit for $5,000

This is yet another interesting policy from Amazon.

The company doesn’t believe in keeping unhappy workers on-board, so offers them a lump sum of money to move on. With that money, they can pay for relocation services, pack up, and start a new life elsewhere.
