Dana Reeves was traumatized by the spinal cord injury in 1995 to her husband, Christopher. during an equestrian horse accident in which the prognosis was not good.  She was told he would most likely not survive the night.  That put Dana into a complete state of shock and she was traumatized.  That emotional trauma that would endure every evening for 10 years would manifest lung depression to the point of her having stage four terminal cancer in which she died a little over one year later.

He miraculously survived after the doctors were bluntly honest about his condition and what would most likely happen.  This fear now imprinted in Dana’s mind would cycle every morning for ten years until he finally passed away.
