I have watched the videos of the boats and see and the cities that should not be visible at the distance because of the curvature. The reason they are able to see what they are showing is because they do not follow the science. The formula is miles squared x8 inches. The mistake they make is pointing their scope at the horizon instead of keeping it level to the horizontal plane as the formula states. They would need to use a level to keep the telescope level (like a surveyors scope) along the horizontal plane and stop pointing it down at the horizon. Unfortunately all your talking points in your logic have been debunked by the Flat-Earthers who, for some are no less than genuine scientists. A renown astronomer, on record has stated that both heliocentrism and géocentrisme do not contradict the calculations, with the only differences that when géocentrists speak in thousands of miles, the heliocentrists speak in light years. It may be so in terms of distances but still the maths are correct. Flat-Earth logic as opposed to Globe-Earth logic is not an absurdity.
The common sense of the lesser men also accept easily the concept of the Flat-Earth. Flat-Earth as opposed to Globe-Earth is therefore plausible to both side among reasonable men.
As for the visual observation, with a powerful telescope, I have seen far away objects (such as car’s ray of light under the sun) circulating on roads along distant sea shores which I was never supposed to see. The earth is not a globe as told. My own eyes, as well as yours should see the same as many others do. Your particular case of not seeing Mt. Everest with your telescope from Texas does not disprove that the earth is flat, because, first, your telescope does not grow the image large enough to see even a high mountain peak at such a distance, and second, because the atmosphere blocks all view once past a certain distance. The air of the atmosphere is similar to water in the ocean, and how far can you see in a clean water ocean?

2. The sun rises in what we are told is the East and sets in what we are told is the West.

If One is traveling to the East on the terrain and if the earth is moving in the direction of travel; the traveler would probably not notice anything.

I have asked many people to explain how the Southern Cross works on a flat earth and have never received an answer. This is the one issue that proves the earth is not flat. The Southern Cross, which is only visible in the Southern hemisphere constitute indeed an unexplained mystery, if it remains ‘static’ as you ‘bigscifilover’ tells. How do you know it was the north star that you saw from Rio. Just someone saying it was? Which places exactly and at what times? Vital. Because depending upon where you are it can be in the south, south east or south west and everywhere inbetween, at any time of the day or night.

I am not aware of seeing this pair before. Both jump straight into the flat earth topic and initially attempt to give the impression that they are just two dudes posting their on the fly thoughts on the subject. One is proffering up the ‘euclidian geometry’ angle and the other the ‘southern cross’ conundrum. What these both have in common is the unlikelyhood of the average person to both test the question and ascertain answers.
In reality both have been frequenting flat earth comment sections on other sites and posting the same points. So when Jimmy posted his latitude and longitude answer he was likely already aware of the issues involved yet posted it anyway. The southern cross question attempts to mislead people to imagine that three people are looking straight at the ice wall from different points on the model. When I pointed out the daylight in at least one area it was quickly conceded. Yet bigscifilover must have been aware of this already yet failed to mention it in his opening remarks.
Then bigscifilover gloms onto Jeffery as defender, whilst simultaneously suggesting the internet is generally for entertainment purposes, code for you are stupid to be taking any of this too seriously. Nothing could be further from the truth and amounts to an attempted poisoning of the well.

NORTH

So what is going on?
