# Is Time Speeding Up?

When I say, “Time is speeding up,” people just look at me and say, “It’s just because you are getting older.”  I don’t think so.  There is evidence that time may in fact be speeding up.

Firstly, one must understand that time is relative.  Traditionally, we think of time as being a constant in the universe, but it’s not.  Einstein proved that.  His calculations showed that the closer an object comes to the speed of light, the slower time passes.  Scientists have done experiments that prove Einstein’s theory to be correct using clocks moving at different speeds.

So, if Einstein’s theory is correct, then the opposite must be true; if our speed decreases, time will speed up!  Researcher Greg Braden says that that is exactly what is happening.  The rotation of the Earth is slowing down, and time is speeding up.  Evidence for his assertions comes from the Schumann Resonance.  The Schumann Resonance is, in layman’s terms, the heartbeat of the Earth.  In scientific terms, it is the Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) of the Earth’s magnetic field.  In the 1950’s when the Schumann resonance was discovered, it was recorded to be an average of 7.8 Hertz.  Now, according to Swedish and Russian researchers, says Braden*, it is an average of 12 Hertz.  That means that the normal 24-hour day feels like a 16-hour day.  In essence, we’ve lost one third of our normal daytime.

Interestingly, the Bible predicted this would happen.  It reads, “And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and theday shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.” (Revelations 8:12).

However, if time is speeding up, how come the clocks aren’t speeding up?  Why don’t the clocks on Earth indicate a 16 hour day?  That’s a great question!  I have the same question, and I don’t have a scientific answer for you.  My best guess would be that the speed of the electrical pulses on Earth is somehow tied to speed of the rotation of the Earth.  This would explain why a two-hour movie, still takes two hours to play by our clocks.  But, how can the speed of the rotation of the Earth affect anything on Earth (other than time)?  Well, we know for a fact that the Earth’s magnetic field has been weakening at a parabolic rate.  And since magnetism and electricity are so closely related, wouldn’t this have an effect on the electricity of the planet?

Furthermore, Mr. Braden says that the Earth’s rotation will eventually stop with respect to the sun, and start rotating the opposite direction.  Scientists have known for a long time that there have been reversals in our Earth’s magnetic field once about every 10-12 thousand years, but they don’t know why or how.  Braden* provides us with an answer.  Our Earth is a gigantic magnet.  In elementary physics, we learn that if you change the direction of the rotation of the electro-magnetic we reverse the direction of the magnetic field.

That, as it may be; I wonder how is it possible that so many people are oblivious to the acceleration of time?  If you’ve ever seen the movie, “The Cube,” you might get the picture.  In one room of the cube, time was slower; and in another room of the cube, time was faster.  However, to the perceivers inside each room, time seemed constant.  They were completely unaware of the change in the speed of time, except when the characters looked into another room, from without.  That’s why many people today, think that I’m crazy to suggest that time is speeding up; because it is nearly imperceptible.  However, I use benchmarks to measure time.  Like when I was a child in the car looking out the window.  As my father accelerated very slowly, I could not feel the acceleration, but I saw the fence posts going by faster and faster.  The fence posts were my benchmarks.

The benchmarks that I use today to perceive the acceleration of time are as follows.  I cannot teach the same amount of material in one 40-minute lesson that I could two years ago.  I cannot get the same amount of work done in an 8-hour work day as I could two years ago.  I cannot get the same amount of tasks done in a 24-hour day as I could two years ago.  Am I the only person who has notices these things?  No.  Just do a Google-search for “time is speeding up” and you will see 37 million web-pages that deal with the issue of time speeding up.  Some of the authors of the aforementioned websites have made the connection between Greg Braden’s work and Terence McKenna’s work entitled, “Time-Wave Zero”.  Mr. McKenna’s work is fascinating.  In a nutshell, he took the 64 ideograms from the I-Ching and mapped them in a linear fashion onto a 2-dimensional graph.  He got a “time wave”.  When he placed the “time wave graph” over a time graph of World history, he noticed some amazing correlations.  The peaks of the “time wave graph” matched significant events in world history.  While that is interesting in and of itself, the most interesting thing is that the wave ends roughly around the end of 2012 (with a margin of error, of course).  At the precise point where the wave hits the zero line on the graph, Terence McKenna interprets that as the end of time.  There will be no time.  We will be in a state of being where there is NO TIME.  I’m still trying to wrap my brain around all this stuff.

Even more interesting is what Braden* says.  He says that when the Schumann resonance hits 13 Hertz, we time will speed up to infinity.  How he arrived at that conclusion is beyond me.  However, some new-agers have interpreted this to mean that we who will be living on planet Earth when that happens will experience a shift in consciousness.  The veils of secrecy will be lifted.  We will then become cognizant of all the lies that we’ve been told by politicians, historians, and the like.  Furthermore, it is told by the ancients that the veil between this mortal realm and the spirit realm will dissolve.  We will be able to freely converse with those on “the other side”.  If what the new-agers and the ancients predict is true, I personally can’t wait.

No, time isn’t speeding up.

How do you know that?

What you do not understand about Time Dilation or Special Relativity is somewhat expected. You are not a Physicist or an Engineer, by trade. (I know because of how your In Depth Analysis impressed that fact upon me…Well…I must write that I was impressed…NEGATIVELY.)

Here are some facts for you to consider. There are GPS Satellites orbiting Earth as I write. Because of Relativity their clocks slow down continuously, Relative to Earth Observers, as they are Orbiting around the Earth at 18,000 miles per Hour. If the clocks were not continuously corrected for the Relativistic Effects then they would be rendered USELESS. We see Time Slow Down on those Satellites.

However let us suppose that you were aboard the International Space Station (ISS)….which Orbits Earth at a roughly similar speed. And you were to measure Earth Time from that vantage.

Well Relative to the Frame of Reference of the ISS, from that vantage point, Time on Earth is indeed Speeding Up.

Since there is no standard Frame of Reference the Time Accretion or Dilation Effects must be measured against other Frames. There is no preferred Frame of Reference…no standard Frame to measure against.

That is the biggest error in this article. Time is speeding up? Compared to what?

To what Time was in a 1950′s Frame? Then the technology to measure Frequencies was not as advanced as today. He reports measurements but NOT any associated Error Factor? The values present and past are absolutely meaningless without the measurement of uncertainties associated with them.

As I wrote that this is expected. People do not understand measurements or Rudimentary Science. Then they write up articles about concepts that of which they haven’t a grasp.

Then people like you add to the morass by making unsubstantiated shallow comments which serve to add to the confusion and misunderstanding.

There is no winning. I do not even know why I responded. But I did. Maybe…just maybe…you will get a clue.

There is no doubt that a subtle alteration of the space-time continuum is underway. That’s because the end of the present age is imminent and a new age is about to be born. The Bible calls this new age “the holy age.” It will arrive when God employs the powers of nature to annihilate the reign of Antichrist and purify the world of all spiritual and physical contaminants.

The Bible speaks in great detail about these events and what their outcome will be.

It does. Every thing that ever was and ever will be.
You are just on vacation.

Time is relevant only to the observer. Reality exists outside of our limited consciousness. As our consciousness evolves and we shed our third dimensional understanding, our observations change and so does the world around us.

• That_was_Random

Einstein proved nothing. It is a theory. ONE THAT BY IT’S VERY NATURE, CANNOT BE PROVEN.

• Tall Tom

You are funny. Einstein’s Theory has applications

Do you have a GPS navigator in your car? If you used it then Einstein’s Theory made certain that you arrived at your proper destination. Have you ever been in the military in the Battlespace? Einstein’s Theory probably saved your life.

That network of GPS Satellites orbiting up there in Space…well…they have internal clocks. Those internal clocks are CONTINUOUSLY CORRECTED for Einstein-Lorentz Time Dilation. The clocks run slow due to their Orbital Speed. Without the clocks there is just no way that their position, thus your position, can be pinpointed. Thus the GPS Network is rendered absolutely USELESS without Einstein’s Theory.

As for Theories Newton also had a Theory of Universal Gravitation. It was wrong. Yes Einstein’s General Relativity Theory trumped Newton’s Theory by describing Gravity as a warping of Space Time rather than a Force as Newton described it.

In fact during a Solar Eclipse in 1922 a Star that should not have been observed, according to the Classical Physics, was observed due to the Gravitational Warping. That served to provide validation for the General Theory, Einstein’s description of Gravity. thank God for that event. I like my GPS. I do not rely on it. But it does make life convenient.

But since Theories cannot be “proven” let us see if you really believe that and you go and jump off of a High Bridge. You don’t believe that Einstein is correct. So the results might be somewhat exhilarating because you’ll fly, right? Yeah Gravity does not work. Right?

In fact if it were not for Einstein’s Theory it would be impossible for you to type your IGNORANT DRIBBLE using your Computer and the wonders of the Internet. There would be no Semiconductor Theory, no Quantum Theory, and a lack of many of the conveniences of Modern Life that you just take for granted.

Write your Dribble and keep on impressing people with your inept shallowness. It is somewhat entertaining. We do need a good laugh from time to time.

” Einstein proved that. His calculations showed that the closer an object comes to the speed of light, the slower time passes. Scientists have done experiments that prove Einstein’s theory to be correct using clocks moving at different speeds.”

It’s a very good point. However you have to remember that physics is not correct. We know this because our current physics doesn’t answer for example, the cause of gravity. Einstein was a brilliant man, but lets not turn him into an infallible god. Science remains humble, it never claims anything is proven. Theories become stronger the more positive experiment results, but even so it’s not absolute proof of cause.

Assuming the theory is correct that time is relative, then we wouldn’t notice. Because it’s not shorter for us while we are experiencing it. It would only appear shorter from an outside perspective. Which pretty much makes the question ‘Is Time Speeding UP, rather moot.

You wrote, “Einstein proved that.” Then you write, “Scientists have done experiments that prove Einstein’s theory to be correct…”

But then you write, “Science remains humble, it never claims anything is proven.”

Yes Einstein has a good model. It can be used to predict many phenomena.

And Einstein’s General Theory IS a VALID description of Gravity. The Occultation of a Star during the Solar Eclipse of 1922 demonstrated that. Furthermore it described the 43 Second of Arc Precession of the Perihelion of the Orbit of the Planet Mercury. It is a very good description of Gravity.

It is just less demanding to use the Calculus and Vector Mathematics to describe Gravity rather than to toy with the Einstein Tensor Model. The results of Newton are close enough to deal with Non Accelerated Frames.

• anonymoustache

Science isn’t humble,anyway.
Science itself is supposed to be neutral, objective and impartial.

SCIENTISM,on the other hand,
is anything but that…

Most of what is called “science” is really only scientism.

• Tall Tom

Wow…You, personally, will not perceive a change of Time (speeding up or slowing down) while inside of the accelerated, or decelerated, Frame of Reference.

However Outside Observers, in another Frame of Reference, will observe the phenomena that Time in your frame has Sped up or Slowed Down.

Observation is just Relative to a Frames of Reference. And, to add to that, there is no Frame of Reference that is preferred…no Standard Frame by which any Frame can be measured against. All Frames are Relative to one another.

Can anyone objectively prove that time exists?

Time does not exist.
Time is the physical dimension of space.

The universe is electric.
Just like us.

Einstein was a hack. He was bought and paid for by the Illuminati… don’t believe me? Take a look at this article, its just one of many…

Thank you so much for posting your thoughts on this matter. I have been noticing time going faster myself, as well as have others I’ve mentioned it to. Using the markers you mentioned, when one takes notice, routine activities use up more time to complete than they used to.

Being a believer in our Lord, Jesus Christ, I find comfort in this:
And except the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days. Mark 13:20

Blessings!

• davosurf

I’ve been feeling the exact same way… Time, or at least our perception of time, appears to be speeding up.

• Bobbyray

Earth is growing. It is bulging at the Equator and getting bigger. Growing pains? Earthquakes, volcanos, ice meltdowns and perhaps time are all effects of it. A new unknown sound wave from the core of the black hole at the center of our Galaxy is being emitted too and is also another possibility that has an effect on all the planets as we are seeing.

Mind boggling, isn’t it. No one knows what is really causing all of the world and solar system events.

I’m convinced time is speeding up – and although people often say, ‘it’s because you’re getting older’, why is it that my children also are feeling the ‘speed’? This year has been going ridiculously fast and I don’t think it’s because of ‘enjoying myself’ either. I think it’s perfectly viable to believe it is speeding up and all sorts of shifts are taking place which we cannot perceive directly with our senses. Science doesn’t always manage to explain everything – there are many things we cannot perceive as humans.

• Suze

You quoted Scripture, but you mentioned changes in the earth’s magnetic field every 10 to 12 thousand years, which contradicts Scripture as there is evidence that the earth isn’t even that old. However, I do wonder if there is something to this topic of time speeding up. I feel it too, yet I do wonder why the clocks don’t reflect this discrepancy. It is difficult for me to believe that they are speeding up along with time. But it is interesting to consider.

• txtea

Was just discussing this today. I feel it is, and I know of some young people who feel this way too so its not and age thing. Personally I feel its something Biblical, Matthew 24:22 “except those days should be shortened . . . no flesh be saved . . but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” Now this appears to be speaking about the tribulation period, but possibly it is soon approaching and time has already been shortened.

• lisa552

time does not exist…it is only the procession of motion space and continuity…time is a human made concept..used to measure the intervals upon
which processes occur so that the human mind can fully grasp these concepts and live life in an organized manner…what we measure to be TIME is
speeding up based on the constructs that were invented by humans to represent time…in essence what is call TIME is speeding up, the motion of the planet
is speeding up and coming closer to what they call zero gravity…or the length that occurs from sunrise to sunset each day is getting closer and closer together..
this is definitely true- this is not a myth or something that is occurring due to people aging, which is usually a bogus construct created by ignoramuses
to ignore the processes that are currently occuring on the planet…
