We Never Learn

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

I am more than a little worried for our country right now.  We are so divided while, at the same we want to believe that we all love our country and want the best for it.  We are so weak.

People spend their days on social media posting against what they hate. I’m just as guilty because I post mercilessly against Islam.  Other groups, seem to spend their days escaping reality and posting pics about what they love.  For some, it is this new found “patriotism” or “honoring the vets and soldiers”  Yes, I use quotations because I don’t believe in words – “Actions speak louder than words”  Yes, I’m also guilty of sharing those photos but I wonder if the other people realize that we have been tamed.

All those “honor our troops” beautiful photos do not mean anything if people do not see images that show the horror that our troops go through.  Some will say that we have vets here, who suffer from PTSD and photos of mangled American soldiers would bring them night terrors.  I say that nobody has to remind them of the iron smell of blood, so thick and sickly you can taste it, or the surreal quality of the human body, after the soul has left – that is something you don’t forget. I say that the American public needs to see it and share in the nightmares.  This new campaign of “honor our troops” is nothing but a smoke screen to keep us distracted.

I see the propaganda machine going at full steam, giving each group something to keep them entertained while, slowly our rights and freedoms are whittled away.  There is the mainstream media, going to “wall to wall about vaccines” (as one poster said), while ignoring more pressing issues.  There is the entertainment industry keeping them “doped” with scandals and gossip.  Even that “new agey” movement of “we are all one” and “The Law of Attraction” meditation, yoga and even freaking space aliens.  We have been overwhelmed with stories to keep us distracted.

There is a whole new workforce of paid trolls to post comments in social media.  Comments intended to cause division and confusion.  People are being made to doubt everything so that we can’t trust anything or anyone.  We are being made to hate each other – sheep calling each other sheep, how ironic.

America does not know what it is to live under a dictatorship.  My great grandfather was a Mishling, German slang for half-breed.  He was part Jew and part Austrian white.  He was a member of the Nazi military.  They loved Hitler – they didn’t see his evil until it was too late.

My great grand did, however.  I believe that he saw “the writing on the wall”  As soon as he could he deserted.  Him and his best friend jumped off their ship, while it was in transit through the Panama Canal.

They left everything behind.  It was better for their families that way.  See…at first, the Mishling were only “listed” then they were denied promotions and finally, they were also killed.  My great grand’s family and that of his friend, were not punished because the “filthy Jews” had abandoned them, proving what an inferior race they were.

Him and his friend, married the first females they could, to get a visa.  My great grand married a Guaymi indian and had many children with her but he had them baptized Catholic to protect them.  My grandmother taught me German and English and how to make tamales and matzo.  We were all baptized Catholic but never went to church.  I believe in and worship the God of Abraham but the relationship that my relatives had with faith and even the brand of Catholicism practiced in Panama, will be the subject of a whole another post.

I grew up in Panama during General Torrijos’ dictatorship and, later, Noriega’s.  The people loved him because they didn’t know how he kept his power.  If the priest went to visit someone, without invitation, that meant that this person had to put his affairs in order – he was going to die.  I attended a private school, so the government did not have power over our curriculum but public schools had to use books sanctioned by government.  Children in public schools, specially in rural areas, read books about what a “great liberator” Torrijos had been.

I see everything that is going on in my country and it makes me sad.  Instead of coming together, our country is growing apart.  I see how people are content to act the fool, block out unpleasant things and allow themselves to be manipulated into hating each other.  Am I a hypocrite because I harp against Islam?  Aren’t there good Muslim American citizens?  Yes and no, because it is through Islam that we are being invaded.  Islam is our new Hitler.  There are sweet Muslims but, because their religion demands blind obedience, I have to say that they are compromised.  Many people see that but they don’t see how, spending their lives in front of a keyboard or their noses in a smartphone, is the same as sticking their heads in the sand.  Main stream media is compromised, soon all digital media will be also.  And we never learn.  We repeat the same mistakes from the past.

if i may, you say that people tend to block out unpleasant things. by focusing on islamic mass immigration and terror groups who claim to be islamic, the symptoms, maybe we should focus more on the root of the problem. who created this mess? who wrote the immigration policies? who funds these terror groups?
yes, there is a problem that appears to be an islamic problem, but what’s more relevant and pressing, imo, is who is to blame?
