Jerry Seinfeld Impresses a New Audience With an Old Comedy Routine

In tribute, many of his famous guests over the years are returning to say goodbye. Jerry Seinfeld has become more than an iconic figure since his first appearance on the Late Show.

So much of an icon, that he can repeat this comedy routine from early in his career. It’s from his first appearance on the David Letterman show, back when he was an up-and-coming young comedian.

Since then, Seinfeld was named the 12th greatest comedian of all time, and then named the wealthiest living actor. It bodes well that he shows us the routines from his jumping off point. More successful comedians should perform their old routines.

Seinfeld’s ultimate fame came with his self-titled TV sitcom Seinfeld. But the fame hasn’t ended. Seinfeld currently hosts another hit series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, for a new generation of comedy fans.

But Jerry Seinfeld hasn’t changed. The comedic delivery and timing is still there, even when delivering a 20- to 30-year-old routine. What the fans really miss is that poofy hair. Where did it all go? It was the one way you could pick Seinfeld out of a crowd.

But Seinfeld is even more beloved as a father figure in the comedy world. It didn’t go so well for some of his Seinfeld co-stars. He may have replaced the big hair for a close cropped cut and sometimes glasses, but the wit remains.
