38 Train Derailments Since March 30, 2015

Yesterday I updated my list from a post called 24 Train Derailments since March 30, 2015 to 35 Train Derailments since March 30, 2015. Today I am again updating that rising number. If you have not had a look at the other 35 I have linked both of those for you above. This number goes up everyday so check back often! As I said in my past two articles, a majority of these derailments involve crude oil. I linked the sources of all these derailments to their local newspapers or media outlets.

June 14, 2015 HEIMDAL, N.D. - Arden Georgeson, 78, thought the dark column rising skyward was a tornado. He shouted to his wife, Linda, 72, to run to the cellar.Then the Georgesons made out orange flames along the railroad tracks adjoining their farm, and the source of the smoke came into focus: A mile-long train transporting crude oil had derailed.SOURCE

June 14, 2015 Baltimore, MD- A Children’s amusement train derailed on Sunday in Cosca Regional Park.It is reported there were 30 passengers, kids and adults, on the train when it fell of the tracks.Of the 30 passengers, 20 people have been sent to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Source

June 13, 2015 ODESSA, TX -Union Pacific crews are working to clean up from a train derailment that happened on Saturday morning.The derailment happened around 3:30 a.m. near Loop 338 and Highway 80.According to a spokesman with Union Pacific, a westbound train derailed 10 cars, six were on their side and four remained upright.Source
