Who Is Afraid of Prout?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Prout is an alternative to capitalism and communism. The leaders of Russia and India in seventies feared so much Prout that the Gandhi Ministry imprisoned and tried to assassinate Sarkar, the founder of Prout, and even declared a state of emergency in India. During those times Gandhi wrote a letter to one Proutist in Sweden; “The declaration of emergency… I have acted not only to save democracy in India, but very existence as a free nation…Your sincerely Indira Gandhi”. This letter shows how troubled Gandhi was due to Prout, and although she banned altogether 30 organizations, half of them were related to Prout and Sarkar.

So why were these leaders so afraid of Prout, The Progressive Utilization Theory? Communists feared of loosing their power, and more so, as the followers of Sarkar were not only talking, but also acting practically against corruption, caste system and exploitation. They were as well known with their efficient education and successful relief work in India.

The India Today’s article, written before Sarkar was released from jail on August 1978, shows how humble Sarkar was and how he fully relied on his workers. It is also the only public interview which Sarkar ever gave; Shrii Sarkar, “The Mystery Man”.

Q: Your followers allege that you and your organization have been a victim of a calculated malicious propaganda…. how do you plan to remove misunderstanding from public mind to re-establish your organization? Sarkar: We will be doing our humanitarian duties with subjective approach and objective adjustment.

Q: Do you feel that unless corruption was removed the society would not be to your liking? Unless you take active part in politics, is it possible? Sarkar: I have got no political ambition. I have propounded the theory of PROUT for the welfare of human society. This theory will be materialized by those who love it. India Today, ………………..

I heard just recently a story about planned attack by communist police in eighties when Sarkar was having meetings with his global workers. The workers used always the toilet downstairs in their office building. One day Sarkar asked, why one monk was late? When others told that he was in toilet, Sarkar got angry and denied the workers to use anymore the toilet. Everyone had then to walk into a park toilet half kilometer away. There was constant flow of workers on the road for many days.

One day a police officer came to talk with one monk and was insisting: ‘you must be hundreds of people there, we know‘. When one monk was again late from a meeting and told that he had been in the park toilet, Sarkar scolded him and told: ‘why you people don’t use the downstairs toilet?’ Only later they all came to know that communists had planned an attack to their office, but as they had seen so many workers walking on the road, they had given up the idea of attacking.         ………………………………

Sarkar didn’t explain always things that he was aware intuitionally, but just acted accordingly and at the same time burned some karma of his workers by scolding them. Anyhow let’s not forget that 40 workers were actually killed, most of them in state-sponsored attacks by communists of West-Bengal since 1967.

According Ac Savitananda; Mr Atal Vajpayee, the coming Prime Minister and three members of parliament came to visit Sarkar in prison. They told that the communist intelligence was behind the government decision to imprison Sarkar, try to poison him and ban Prout – planned in Moscow and executed through Delhi. Sarkar survived the assassination attempts miraculously.

Mr Vajpayee’s team gave statement in a press conference: “We requested him (Sarkar) to give up his fast, which he declined by saying that he considers his ideals of dharma, morality and humanity more important than his life. These ideals he considers to be the basic principles of democracy.”

Thousands of followers of Sarkar were also imprisoned, but were utilizing their time wisely by teaching meditation and yoga practises in prisons all over India. Most of the opposition leaders who came to power after, came to know Prout and were inspired by it. Sarkar spread his mission throughout the entire world during his prison years, and never lost his faith in final justice.

Ac Savitananda was also sent out by Sarkar. He travelled with some kind of “world citizen” passport, which he ordered from Switzerland and ended up to Sweden. There he contacted Prime Minister Olof Palme and requested Palme to grant asylum for him in Sweden. He not only got asylum, but also Swedish passport. Palme also welcomed Mr Sarkar to Sweden. Swedish officers took Sarkar’s case into United Nations Human Rights Floor in 1976. The assassination of Palme is related to this case, according Ac Savitananda.

Thousands of people audience was receiving Sarkar when he was released from jail. He spoke shortly: “You have heard of the victory of dharma in the past, you are seeing the victory of dharma in the present and you are going to see the victory of dharma in the future also.” (Meaning that the righteousness is eventually victorious).                 ………………………………….

Sarkar has stated that Marx had strong feelings for suffering humanity, and out of compulsion to do something he wrote his communist theory. However it was not practical. Leaders like Lenin, Stalin, Brezhnev and Mao took up the task of materializing it in the society. Realizing that the theory was defective, they were committing many atrocities.

Typical for communism is suppression, oppression and secrecy. The needs of individuals for liberty, spirituality and expression are neglected. Basically communism is state capitalism, and leads to corruption, cruelty etc. (At present Russia has lost a bit of its communist fervour and may not feel anymore that Prout is a threat, so I sent a Prout book to Putin, he seems to be reading it strenuously!!!)

And what is then wrong with capitalism? Sarkar described it as materialistic and self-centred economic order. It makes person either super rich or beggar. Capitalism believes in “democracy” and extreme centralization, which leads often to unemployment and recession.

Political democracy has become a tool to buy votes – and the world is controlled by business leaders and elites (often behind the elected governments) with money, media, sophisticated technologies, economic hit men and intelligence. People are frustrated and soon might want to demand the fair, righteous, service minded sadvipras to lead!!!

Sarkar was sure that Prout would be established in the future. So sure that he demonstrated it to one doubtful person without any words – by throwing a glass out of window. When the person left the room without fully understanding why Sarkar threw the glass, he found the glass (Prout) unbroken on the rock, but the rock had cracked badly.      ………………………..

What is PROUT then about?

I think Sarkar mixed very well the best sides of capitalism and communism and made it fitting for spiritually minded people. The time is approaching, spirituality is on the rise. Also all sorts of activists have started to seek unity and cooperation, which is the practical side of Prout; for example in co-operatives and local decision making. Prout doesn’t make people dull and apathetic (like communism) by giving same salary to all and controlling them by brute force, rather Prout encourages people to work according their capacity, inspiration and talents to serve their society – which brings also more satisfaction.

One may have desire to have an airplane, and why not - but then one has to do some service also for others or let others to use it. Higher technology is encouraged i.e. in order to shorten working time, and still share it, that everyone can have a nice job. And Prout also sets up some ceiling on salary and wealth, because greedy people don’t know how to control themselves.

Prout stands for anti-exploitation - and for collective welfare, but it recognises as well the individual needs for liberty, spirituality and expression. If these longings are not recognized people get engaged in accumulating excessive physical wealth and depriving others. But when people do meditation (and notice silent meditation revolution is spreading like wildfire!), materialism and money are not anymore their main interest. Then nobody can bribe or manipulate them so easily. That’s Prout shortly – genuine love towards humanity, fellow beings and sharing.                …………………………….

Sir Julian Rose spoke in our conference in Poland eco-farm; Capitalism gathers local wealth to global corporations. Self governing communities should be started for all round self sustainability, freedom and economic independence with humanistic approach. We should create energy independence, educate each others. And unite the moralists!                         ……………………..

Sarkar gave not only the theory of Prout, but he also made us to study Prout and function according Proutist principles. He inspired us to start projects called Master Units, which are one important part of Prout in practice. And here I am happily running one of those eco-centres, although not yet fully equipped, staffed and functional as a service center.

With the progress of science, no place on the earth is now inaccessible, and this is why it is the most opportune moment for building a universal human society, with the help of all the moralists and progressive people. Humanity deservers now something better, something more righteous than communism and capitalism. Human society is in need of universalism.

Corey Goode tells that Michael Tellinger was mentioned as having a possible new model for society after the monetary system, capitalism and other isms are gone. Tellinger says that their Ubuntu contributionism movement is to grow awareness and create system that people live without money in paradise, driven by people’s passion for life. It is about “creating self-sustaining communities of abundance, because we live on a planet of abundance.” David Wilcock comments someone: as soon as you take away people’s need to earn money, they’re going to drink beer and watch TV all day. http://spherebeingalliance.com/blog/transcript-cosmic-disclosure-ubuntu-and-the-blue-avian-message-part-1.html.

What do you think? What is the difference with Prout?

    • Didianna

According to Prout and Sarkar, society without money is not that good idea, but money should be backed on something real like gold. People are not that sharing and loving yet, even what so ever kind of economic system you would live in. Most people are selfish, they are not ready to live in community, and sharing and caring for others.

People who doesn’t need to do any work will only adopt loose habits and lifestyle, addictions, wasting things etc. Those people who are capable should work at least some hours for money. Money is not the problem, it is how human beings use it. I think reaching into an age of “free everything” is still going to be for a while.

Otherwise I think there are basic good ideas in the Ubuntu system.

According Prout working time would be shorter for those who now work even more than 8 hours. It could be already now if there would be existing system to reduce the long working hours so that everyone could get job. We have now rich and poor, partly it is because some people work long hours and some don’t have work.
