It’s Really About Creating a Marriageless Genderless Society

What most people are not aware of – and this includes the average gay or straight person, even those gays involved in activism to change the way society sees same-sex marriage – is that the real push behind same-sex marriage is not to create marriage laws that include all people – straight and gay. It is to actually eliminate marriage altogether. This is what lesbian journalist Masha Gessen said a few years ago on a radio show.

It’s a no-brainer that (homosexual activists) should have the right to marry, but I also think equally that it’s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist. …(F)ighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we are going to do with marriage when we get there — because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change, and that is a lie.

The institution of marriage is going to change, and it should change. And again, I don’t think it should exist. And I don’t like taking part in creating fictions about my life. That’s sort of not what I had in mind when I came out thirty years ago.

Gessen uses pretty clear and revealing language. She admits that gay activists are essentially lying about things related to marriage. I appreciate the fact that she is willing to go on record in stating what many of us already knew, yet when we broach this subject with gay people, we are pointedly told that they don’t want marriage eliminated.

Let’s face it, since the United States Supreme Court has said that all states should recognize same-sex marriage, that fact alone has literally changed marriage. What used to be between one man and one woman is now a union between two people irrespective of gender. No word yet on if polygamy is now also allowable, but then the question becomes how can it not be since the Supreme Court effectively changed the definition of marriage in their ruling?

But just as gay activists are changing the definition of marriage with the Supreme Court’s blessing and will eventually bring marriage to the point of being non-existent, is it also possible that with this push on in society to redefine gender roles (those dreaded stereotypes) that force society to see beyond the external representation of a person has a meaning beyond simply allowing transgender men to use the women’s public restrooms? I think eventually, what we’ll see is a push for society to be fully genderless.

So just as hardcore gay activists essentially want a society that is free from marriage and marital constraints, the transgender end of things wants a society that does not see “male” and “female” but simply sees people. Is that possible? Yes, absolutely, and for those who continue to want marriage in what has always been seen as traditional terms (one man with one woman) and also want to continue to recognize the differences between men and women, these folks will likely be seen increasingly as out of step with society at best or fully bigoted at worst. Because of this, these folks will be continually pushed to the outer edges of society because of their bigotry and sexism.

I learned recently that because of the recent laws passed in North Carolina that, among other things, keep men out of women’s public restrooms, the state which hosted an educational summit for schools for several years has been told by numerous other states that normally attended that they will not be attending this year because of that law. Who suffers because of that? In this case, the students and teachers who would have benefited from learning about new educational laws and teaching methods. But in order to make a statement, the state superintendents from other states have essentially made the decision to refuse to allow educators from their states to attend the conference in North Carolina.

If you go to California, it is not uncommon to see people who still look like men standing in the line waiting to get into the women’s public restroom. Apparently, they “see” themselves as women. But what does that even mean? How does it “feel” to be a woman if you’re a man? Does anyone really know? We’ve all heard the statement, “I’m a woman trapped inside a man’s body,” but again, what does that actually mean? How would that man (genetically speaking) know what it feels like to feel like a woman?

The whole thing is becoming so arbitrarily absurd that it is difficult to take it seriously, yet people are not only taking it seriously, but making stands that preclude the average person from even being offended that a person who appears to be a man wants to use a woman’s restroom.

I thoroughly believe that the goals of the left include a future society that has no signs of gender and has eliminated all aspects of marriage. Both of these things will become thoroughly passé. At first, you’ll be entitled to continue to believe that there are differences in the genders and you can still hang on to your “outmoded” traditional belief in marriage between one man and one woman. Eventually though, once the left gets enough momentum under their belts, you’ll be seen as intolerable and ultimately, you’ll be hated, vilified and probably even hunted down if you continue to believe that men and women are different and marriage should be between one man and one woman. I fully believe society will get to that point. It seems inevitable.

If it does, then it will simply prove that all of the “talking points” of the left have been one huge lie. If the goals include eliminating marriage altogether and eliminating all differences between genders, then the arguments we’re hearing now about feeling like a man or woman in spite of what they physically represent to the world is an absolute sham. It has nothing to do with anything other than to use as a vehicle to change society. Once society is changed to the nth degree, then those arguments that are being used today are completely removed from the table altogether as if they never existed.

If the left simply came out and said “we need to eliminate marriage!” or “we need to eliminate gender differences!” the rest of the world would laugh them to derision. Their attempts to change society would end before it even got off the ground. Instead, the left appears to be pushing for “equality.” That’s a completely different agenda, isn’t it? Who doesn’t want equality? Everyone says they do. So, the left is using that argument for now to push their hidden agenda – a marriageless, genderless society, which simply has people in it. Those people can live with whomever they want to live with and they can see themselves as whatever they want to be seen as, based on who or what they think they are. For those who are unwilling to go along with the plan, reproach, censure, and possibly even a certain amount of accepted violence will likely be the result.

Just know that society is being played…big time so that the traditional will become thoroughly outmoded and even illegal. We are being told lies as we watch society being taken over and redirected toward an end in which the true agenda is kept in the shadows under the guise of equality for all. In the end, equality for all means no marriage, no gender, no restrictions. Anything goes unless it is traditional. That above all things, must go.
