What the heck is the ‘6-10’ Office?

Since June 10 is the eighteenth anniversary of this sinister outfit, it is important for the world to know what the acronym ‘6-10’ office stands for.

China’s “6-10 Office,” officially called the “Office of the Leadership Team to handle the Falun Gong Issue,” derives its name from its date of establishment: June 10, 1999 (6-10).

The ‘6-10’ Office is all over China but even the Chinese people do not know about something so sinister in their own backyard. 

The brainchild of former Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin , the 6-10 Office was designed with one agenda– to execute a large-scale oppression against Falun Gong. Falun Gong is an exercise and meditation practice based on the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

The “6-10 Office” is an organization of terror similar to the Gestapo, under Hitler’s direction, in their persecution of the Jewish people during the Holocaust in World War II.

Jiang granted the 6-10 Office wide-ranging powers and the authority to use “every means necessary” to wipe out Falun Gong. Operating in an atmosphere of impunity even after Jiang was replaced by Hu Jintao, the 6-10 Office today has become notorious for its regular use of extreme torture. Xi Jinping has shown some signs of making amends for this large scale persecution.

Draconian Laws cover up satanic acts

The 6-10 Offices possess absolute power. Whoever the 6-10 Office decides to sentence or send to forced labor camp, nobody dares to ask for evidence or turn down the decision. Whatever fabricated news they decide to publish or broadcast, nobody dares to refuse. In prisons and forced labor camps, if Falun Gong practitioners are killed because they refuse to give up their belief, the killer may claim that they had the order from the 6-10 office saying that no matter what means are used to treat Falun Gong practitioners, they cannot be held responsible for the result.

The 6-10 Office’s strategy in its using the states propaganda machinery is similar to that of fighting a guerrilla war. If the 6-10 Office can influence people in “defaming the reputations” of Falun Gong, then it can count on the people of China giving practitioners no support and no refuge or protection. The 6-10 Office seeks to psychologically isolate the practitioners of Falun Gong, by influencing the entire population of China to be willing informants and collaborators in the effort to “eradicate” this peaceful practice.

To do this, the 6-10 Office has fabricated numerous stories meant to demonstrate that the practice of Falun Gong leads to psychosis, homicide, suicide, and alcohol and drug abuse. The now-debunked “self-immolations” on Tiananmen Square is the most famous of these. CNN had picked holes in the video footage of this staged self immolations. These stories are then used to justify the claims that Falun Gong is “anti-science,” “anti-society,” “anti-humanity,” “anti-government,” and “anti-Party.”

The ‘6-10 Office’’ has perfected the art of blood-curdling Torture

In most cultures, women and children are spared any kind of violent or crude torture. So also in Chinese culture there is gentle affection and kindness towards women, children and old people, the meek and infirm. Also motherhood is given due respect and pregnant women are treated with tender care. But for the ‘610 Office’ fragile and pregnant women are soft and easy targets. They take sadistic pleasure in trying different torture methods that go beyond human decency and imagination.                                            

In Nazi Germany Dr Mengele and his gang’s torture techniques inflicted on thousands of Jews pales before the inhuman torture methods on Falun Gong practitioners. In years to come the world will be truly horrified by what is known now to a few.

A wakeup call to the people of the world

In today’s world of instant electronic media it is hard to believe how the outside world does not have access to news and footage of a genocidal campaign engineered by the world’s largest authoritarian regime.

There is hope only if people of conscience in China and worldwide make a concerted effort to expose the ‘610 Office’. If the world remains a mute witness and uses the lame excuse of ‘We did not know’, aren’t we in a way assisting the evil to continue its crimes against humanity?

Thousands in China are risking their lives so that at least people outside China can know the truth. It affects us all in some way wherever we are.

Can we see a silver lining in the dark clouds?

With the rise of Xi Jinping, as the regime’s new head, a politician who had no role in repressing Falun Gong, Jiang’s underlings and henchmen have found themselves subjected to a new round of investigations and purges. Through the extrajudicial process of shuanggui, Party members themselves may be detained indefinitely. Some are even tortured to extract confessions.

The regime has not given any clear signals yet that it is preparing to end the persecution, though a number of the officials who were involved in it have been taken down in corruption investigations. These include former security czar Zhou Yongkang, and head of the 610 Office Li Dongsheng.

Tens of thousands of officials, a large but unknown number who have taken roles of varying degrees in persecuting Falun Gong have met similar fates. Individuals in the 610 Office and others responsible for the persecution may feel time is running out.
