Try this: Point your telescope horizontally and view distant objects that should be below thousands of feet of curvature. I’ve done 54 mile sightings that lack the 2000 ft of curvature that should be present. Ergo the earth is flat and the telescope with its equatorial mount works just fine on a real world flat cosmology making a model unnecessary. I win the drone, but you can keep it.
If you stand on Pikes Peak in Colorado you can easily see the curviture of da ‘Erf. At least you could the last time I was there.
David Gordon …… You clearly are not applying the curvature formula correctly, you are expecting that 2000′ ft. of drop to be measured downward from your sight to the horizon ….. this is WRONG ! You measure down from a line of sight that is created by sighting outward from 90 degrees off of plum under your viewing device (camera/telescope). That’s what a Theodolite does, it shows you where the correct sight line should be. It actually shows you where the horizon should be on a flat earth (when sighting things that rise above the horizon), and in so doing, it always reveals that the horizon is below where it should be for a flat earth, thus evidence of curvature drop in the distance. The horizon line of sight is already canted downwards below the correct (formula line of sight) that’s why you FEers always get the wrong results that lead you to erroneous conclusions. “Ergo” you draw the false conclusion about what you think you’re seeing. “Ergo” operator error ….. you flew your plane into the (globe) ground because you read your instruments wrong. NO drone for you …. you crashed and burned !!
