Asian Hornets Have Landed and Other Things in Society

I was looking back over articles I’ve written and even though these particular insects are in the news again now (May, 2020), I had previously written an article about them way back in 2011 called “Asian Giant Hornet and Revelation 9.” In it, as the title indicates, I compare these deadly insects with those spoken of in Revelation 9, right in the midst of the coming Tribulation. While these particular insects may not be the same ones spoken of in Scripture, it is interesting and uncanny that the current Asian Giant Hornet has some of the same characteristics of those scorpions mentioned in Revelation 9.

Apparently, these Asian Giant Hornets kill anywhere from 50 to 70 people in Japan annually as their sting can be deadly. Whether it’s because it causes the person to go into anaphylactic shock or the poison secreted into a person who is stung or bit is enough to subdue and kill them is really not known.

I stand by my understanding that the creatures referred to in Revelation 9 are actually demons that are given their marching orders once they are released onto the earth from a short period of time. In fact, the text appears clear that these scorpions are released from the “pit” to roam the earth and look for victims; victims that they are not allowed to kill, but only terrorize with tremendous pain for months.

Should people be concerned? Experts are telling us there’s no need for fear yet, but that’s only due to the fact that there are not many here now. How long will it take them to gain in numbers? How long will it be before they migrate from Washington to Oregon, California or other states? One of the things that this Asian Giant Hornet does is to attack and kill regular bees, which could spell trouble for the beekeeping industry, which has suffered somewhat from other things in the past few years.

There are so many things occurring that are reflecting or pushing the world toward the coming one-world government revealed throughout Scripture (starting in Daniel 2), that it’s difficult for all but those who refuse to recognize God, His deity, His omniscience and His overarching goal of bringing the world to heel under His absolute authority.

Even with the current highly-touted pandemic called Coronavirus, we’re seeing more calls for a global government that pushes for unity among the world’s people and nations. The pope has called for it and recently taken the world to task because many are chafing at the “lockdowns” occurring throughout the world. We’re supposed to simply hear and obey in spite of the questions surrounding the reality of Coronavirus.

Recently, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) quietly revised its total deaths from 65,000 down to the current 37,000 [1] They note all deaths from everything else totals just under 720,000. This does not take into account the fact that every day, 155,000 people die throughout the world from a variety of causes. If you take all of these numbers with the most recent comments by the head of CDC who stated essentially that we have to prepare for a second wave of Coronavirus that may be worse than the first wave, what we have here is a desperate attempt to cause more fear and panic. Unfortunately, most seem to be buying what the CDC is selling.

I’ve been noticing on social media people posting comments that are really accusations about people who go outside without wearing a mask. Apparently, maskless people are “killing” other people. Who knew? Of course, there is no evidence of this and there’s plenty of evidence that those making the accusations know nothing of “herd immunity” that I’ve talked about here.

The absolute ridiculous thing is when we hear Dr. Fauci talking about “election safety,” referring to the upcoming November elections. What he means by that is that there should be voting by mail instead of in-person voting at the booth. Why is he even talking about something that isn’t going to happen until November? Why can I go to a big box store with a sign out front that reads “No more than 846 people allowed in store at the same time” but I cannot go to a voting precinct to cast my in-person vote because ten or 20 people might be there? It’s ridiculous and makes no sense, but this what we now have in society.

I know that some people believe wearing masks in public will go away and that things will eventually get back to the previous normal. I have serious doubts about that, though when some restrictions are rolled back, it will appear to many or most that we have returned to the previous normal. What these people fail to realize is that we never go back to what we had before. Never and if they’d simply research history, they’d know that this was the case.

Instead, we continue moving ahead with restrictions (actually, infringements), in place to some extent. It is what the world is used to and simply shrugs its collective shoulders and moves on.

On Twitter, one person stated something to the effect that if it’s a choice between having to remain home or wear a mask to go out, she’d take wearing a mask. I mentioned that in either case, freedom is lost so in her mind, she was simply taking the lesser evil. She was fine with that and said so. This is the majority of people who ultimately accept and are fine with further restrictions placed on society by an overreaching government, whether local, state or federal.

I’ve mentioned the fact that Costco has instituted a new policy starting a week ago Monday. Anyone shopping in their warehouse must wear a mask, no exceptions. If you don’t wear a mask, you are not allowed in. I know people who have already canceled their memberships. Other stores may follow suit and you couple this with the other people in society doing what they can to “shame” everyone into wearing a mask, and it can become a serious problem. Many will simply give into it because they don’t want to go against the flow. Those who don’t comply will be seen as villains and “selfish.” One of my readers told me that as soon as the news was announced about Costco, his father cancelled his Costco membership. It’ll only be when a large number of folks join with that, that Costco will reconsider what it’s doing.

Herd immunity actually works but few seem to want to allow it to do so and you have to ask why? I believe it’s solely due to powers that be trying to determine how far they can push society toward that one-world, unified point and how quickly.

Wearing masks in certain cultures signifies either outright slavery or second-class citizenship. Yet today, tons of men and women are seen wearing masks and I’m quite certain Muslim men are giddy over women wearing masks even though they are not saying anything. If they actually said something, it would give it away, wouldn’t it? Better to be silent and simply watch it unfold, cheering silently within.

The reasons I’d rather avoid wearing a mask is due to potential health risks with wearing a mask all the time; the biggest one has to do with breathing in our own exhaled carbon dioxide. It seems to me to be more problematic than helpful, especially considering the fact that these masks are not “air-tight” and allow our breath to get through even though the masks might stop spit drops from going through. Not to mention that masks prohibit previously mentioned herd immunity from doing its job.

One reader told me that as he visited his local Walmart recently, he noticed that each aisle had an arrow on the floor showing the direction foot traffic was supposed to move. In other words, all aisles became one-way aisles. This was designed to help people avoid being near or passing other people. He chose to shop elsewhere because of it and I don’t blame him. He said he later called corporate office to politely tell them what he did not appreciate about it. Good for him.

In reality, stores that resort to this level of restriction are only making things worse in my opinion. How many times have you been looking for something in a store and you just can’t find it only to realize that you just passed it? Under Walmart’s new “traffic flow directions,” you’d have to walk all the way around instead of simply going back a few yards to the spot you just passed. This will likely put you in contact with more people than had you just backed up a few yards to the item you needed. It also means people might be in the store longer because instead of going the shortest possible route to items you need, you have to follow their maze they set up.

Even though CDC revised their numbers way down by almost 30,000 deaths, it seems stores are just getting started with added restrictive measures for customers. Are they trying to make us feel like mice in a maze? Are they seeing how far they’ll go to get our compliance? Stores can adopt these type of policies freely but they should certainly consider customers in doing so and it seems that in spite of the false high death numbers giving way to the more *accurate 37,000 deaths (and possibly fewer), why are businesses ramping up restrictions, instead of easing them?

This is all a sign to me that these things are largely in place to remain in society. While we may see a few restrictions fade away (and masks may be one of those things to fade), I believe a large percentage of restrictions that exist now with more on the way, will remain in society and people will simply get “used” to them. We do this every time. Whether it was the Patriot Act or any number of things that have interrupted society’s normal flow, many of these adoptive efforts become permanent. Remember how well the government uses Hegelian Dialectic.

But let’s get practical here. What should we be focusing on in spite of the restrictions placed upon us in society by governments and corporations because they believe they know what’s best for us? I believe each person will need to decide what they will and will not follow. My wife has surgery this coming Friday. The hospital has a rule that everyone must wear a mask. I will do so while I’m there because of my wife. Once we’re done, the mask comes off. Do I need to shop at stores that have mandatory policies forcing everyone to wear a mask? No.

But aside from all these restrictions, I believe at this time (and it’s really always the time), we must be there for our families, church friends and other loved ones, but especially our families. We need each other. We benefit from being with and helping one another. I have grown more fond of and love our children and their spouses now than ever before. I want to be sure I am helpful to them in any way they need their mom and dad. Paul said, “But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.” (1 Timothy 5:8 ESV).

That’ll smack you between the eyes. We dads and moms (and husbands and wives), need to continue to be examples of loving our children even if they’re on their own with their own spouses and families. How can we support them? How can we be there for them? How can we be examples of Jesus loving them through us?

We can too easily focus on the problems in the world right now and become frustrated about it. Instead, simply note the problems, decide how you will respond to them (based on Scripture), and continue with your life. Love your family. Extend God’s love to them. Do for them. Be there to support them. Pray for them. Give them an example they can sink their teeth into as Jesus gave us.

God is good and He does not want us to fear. Using common sense does not mean turning yourself into knots because of an alleged pandemic they say will destroy civilization as we know it. It doesn’t mean we blindly obey every policy presented to us. Who’s in charge, the government or God?

Give it some thought and always pray, always praise, and always seek His face in all situations.

*that’s debatable considering how many numbers appear to have been fudged because of the CDC’s directives to hospitals to list on a person’s death certificate that they died from CV-19 if they had any symptoms even without the verification of a test
