Sad Story of Gov. Brian Kemp

When Brian Kemp ran for office, he seemed to be a much better pick than the person he was running against in the primaries and at the outset, he also appeared to hold better positions than the previous waffler, Nathan Deal. Once primaries were over and Kemp was positioned to run against Democrat Stacy Abrams, conservatives, Christians and patriots galvanized to ensure a Kemp win. It made sense. After all Kemp was seemingly conservative and word has it, he is a Christian.

I have been going to Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens my whole life. My mother raised my older brother, younger sister, and me there. I had a lot of friends in my Sunday School class. We grew up together and we are still very good friends. So, I am very much at peace in my home church. [link added; 1]

Being Episcopal does not necessarily mean a person is a Christian anymore than a person who has grown up in a Baptist church equals Christianity. In fact, Episcopal churches are not far removed from Roman Catholicism with all its pomp, circumstance and ritualistic approach to God. In looking at his church’s website, it seems clear that they are heavily into “spiritual formation,” a decidedly emergent form of religion within Christendom. Chances are great that the clear message of the true Gospel is not preached at that particular church.

In the south, too often people believe they are Christians simply because they are born into a family that attends church or has at one time and has a Bible prominently displayed on the fireplace mantle or coffee table. I’m not trying to sound sarcastic, but the truth of the matter is that the south is a mixed bag. On one hand, the south promotes congeniality with “yes sir/ma’am,” or “no sir/ma’am.” People can be generally friendly and helpful but have a way of telling a person where to go without using any swear words. “Bless your heart” is a case in point that can mean either a positive or a negative depending upon the tone of voice used by the speaker.

In the linked article from which the quote above was taken, Kemp speaks about God and God’s plan for his life. He speaks plainly about a God who will one day return to this earth. Beyond that, he explains how he approaches life especially as governor of Georgia.

But I also pray for wisdom, because I know that is the only way I can be a good governor. It also helps you do the right thing when no one else is watching. You must have great internal fortitude, values, and wisdom in these positions; it doesn’t matter whether you are secretary of state, a legislator, governor, father, or a businessman. We are all sinners, but I pray often for that wisdom to keep me grounded, to keep me humble, and to keep me faithful every day.

I know that there were people praying for me. They would text me and tell me that. They would call me; and pray with me on the phone. There were Sunday School classes and churches that prayed for me; and that was not only good for me, but for Marty (Brian’s wife) and our daughters.

That’s all well and good. I can commend all of that. It would have been nice to hear a bit more about his own particular faith, what he thinks of Scripture and for him to have mentioned Jesus, not simply the general or vague “God.” But that’s just me, most likely. I like people to be as specific as they can when referencing their beliefs because it avoids misunderstandings later on.

So, Brian Kemp has been in office for a few years now and he’s done a few things that conservatives and Christians have applauded. Yet at the same time, I cannot tell you how unhappy I was when he chose to go along with many other governors throughout America and agree that shutting down Georgia for the “15 days to slow the spread” of CV-19 was good for everyone. It wasn’t good and in effect, it was unconstitutional.

However, since that has happened, we now have the 2020 election debacle before us and just yesterday I read that Gov. Kemp has decided that the election results should be certified in spite of any potential voting irregularities that may have happened, including the “broken” water pipe, which turned out to be nothing more than a slow leak that was fixed very quickly. In spite of this, an arena where ballot counting was happening was emptied out.

Moreover, as time has past since the election, we are finding out more about what may well have happened and even more about Gov. Kemp’s ties with bad players, players like China. In fact, what appears to be coming out calls Kemp’s integrity and even his Christianity into question.

Brian Kemp seems to have connections to China’s communist government. Why is there a Chinese website where Brian Kemp was found appearing to want Chinese to purchase land and businesses in Georgia? We’ve known for some time that China has been buying up land and businesses in the USA for a while now, but this seems remarkable. Maybe it’s just a fluke? Maybe.

Why did Kemp meet with Houston Consul General Li Qiangmin at what is rumored to be a spy hub consulate in Houston? Why is there a consulate in Houston in the first place? Moreover, why, only days later, did Georgia officials sign a contract to have Dominion Voting machines installed throughout the state? If you go to the link shown in the image, it is a Chinese website. You can try to have Google “translate” it into English but that may not happen.

So what’s going on in Georgia? Patriots and conservatives throughout the state voted in good faith for a man whom they believed to be truly conservative and a Christian. Now, are we finding out that Kemp is simply another run of the mill RINO who got into politics to enrich himself, his friends and/or his family members?

There’s something really odd and possibly treasonous about what Kemp and other officials in his administration are involved in. They have all seemed to agree to shut the door on the presidential election of 2020, without verifying signatures and without concern for anything that even smacks of voting irregularities. People are NOT happy judging by their tweets and posts on social networks.

Oh, and by the way, that consulate in Houston? Just days after Kemp’s meeting there with Chinese officials, the consulate was ordered shut down by President Trump for possible espionage.

Here’s an article by a media news bureau citing what they call “treason” by Governors Kemp and Newsom (CA), who are accused of being bought off by China. I find it fascinating that all we’ve been hearing from Democrats and the Left are the accusations that Russia was behind Trump’s election, but it turns out that it’s always been China. China has far more to gain in the short and long run.

We’ve talked a good deal about Technocracy and how the technocrats took China from its third world status and turned it into the premier working technocracy. It’s not so much the Chinese who want to take over everything. It’s the technocrats behind China that are working hard to capture the world’s resources and control all things.

With everything that is coming out about Kemp and his Secretary of State as well as others in his administration, it seems clear that Brian Kemp is not a friend of the Constitution (either Georgia’s or the USA’s), patriots, conservatives or even Christians. He is certainly free to call himself a Christian, but that should clearly be reflected in his own life. It seems to be clearly missing. Not one of us is perfect, clearly. But shouldn’t our lives be free of deliberate corruption?

This appears to be the way things are going as we draw closer to the coming Tribulation. Paul speaks of the great falling away (2 Thessalonians 2:3), and we are watching/living it in real time. We know that this falling away from the faith and morality must happen before the evil one, the man of sin (Antichrist), comes to the fore. This does not mean that Antichrist will arrive on the scene soon. It simply means that things are progressing toward that point where he will step up to center stage.

I’m not really sure how much more our Constitutional Republic can take. God knows and He also knows exactly where that line is drawn that will usher in the Tribulation period. He knows when it will happen and what it will look like in society. We do not know just how things will continue to progress except in mainly general ways. Even though the book of Revelation and elsewhere in Scripture paints a somewhat detailed picture of what the Tribulation will look like, it’s not as precise as we would like.

Jesus is fairly definitive in His Olivet Discourse teachings, but even there, we see gaps of information that would be great for us to know. Paul and others shed a bit more light on things, but for whatever reason, God has simply provided us with outlines of the timeline and some of the events on that timeline. Some areas are much more filled in than others and that’s simply the way that it is. It is also why there are different interpretations of these coming events. Nonetheless, people need to study them and compare them with other parts of Scripture that refer to the same events. In this way, we will grasp a better, larger, and more accurate picture of the end times, the times in which we live.

I wish I could say that all of this corruption and evil will be rooted out and dealt with in our day, but I can’t. That’s God’s department and though we can and should certainly pray about it, ultimately, it is God who decides how He will handle it for His own glory. It can be frustrating.

But what does God say? I’ll remind us of what He says to us through David in Psalm 37. I’ll only quote part of it because the entire psalm is 40 verses long.

Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the green herb.

Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart…(1-4)

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm…(7-8)

The wicked plots against the just,
And gnashes at him with his teeth.
The Lord laughs at him,
For He sees that his day is coming.
The wicked have drawn the sword
And have bent their bow,
To cast down the poor and needy,
To slay those who are of upright conduct.
Their sword shall enter their own heart,
And their bows shall be broken…(12-15)

The Lord knows the days of the upright,
And their inheritance shall be forever.
They shall not be ashamed in the evil time,
And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
But the wicked shall perish;
And the enemies of the Lord,
Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish.
Into smoke they shall vanish away…(18-20)

But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
He is their strength in the time of trouble.
And the Lord shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them,
Because they trust in Him…(39-40)
