Is It Econonic or Prophetic Forecasting?

Lately, I’ve been watching a number of videos both from the prophecy crowd and the economic experts. What I find fascinating is that people within the economic area are saying the same type of thing that those within prophecy circles are saying.

If I’m wanting to learn what we can expect from the economy, would it be better for me to talk to and/or listen to experts in the area of finance or the area of prophecy? My point, that I’ve come to realize over the course of the past few months, is that what often passes for prophecy or the prophetic, is really economic advice.

It may sound like I’m nitpicking or being especially hard on some folks, but the reality to me is that within Christendom, there are WAY too many people who make their living off of their YouTube videos, their books, their speaking engagements and conferences. When it all comes down to it, what do they have to say? None of them can tell us when the Rapture will happen and those who have ventured into areas that our outside the purview of Scripture and are shown to be charlatans. No one can tell us when the LORD will physically return. No one can tell us the day when the Tribulation will begin.

What these people end up doing (not that there is anything really wrong with it, but to call it “prophecy” is wrong), is alert people to what MAY be coming down the pike and to do what we can to prepare. This is not prophecy news or forecasting. It is economic news or forecasting and they should simply be honest and call it that.

We know, for example, that 2024 is probably not going to be a good year, much worse than 2022 or 2023. Economic experts (those not part of the mainstream media and/or Leftwing political pundits), have been warning us for a while that things are looking grim. It takes a while for the dominoes to begin to fall and we’ve been seeing this occur for a bit. Gas prices go up, then come down. The reason for that is that the Biden Administration continues to cancel drilling rights in or just offshore of the USA. We still need gas and oil though to run our economy so the same Biden Administration is forced to then go begging to foreign nations for less quality oil at a higher price.

Under Trump, gas was relatively cheap – and I can recall paying $1.69/gallon – because of his friendship with the Saudis and Trump’s willingness to grant drilling leases here in the USA. We had the Colonial Pipeline, the Keystone Pipeline, drilling in Alaska and elsewhere, which allowed the USA to run smoothly. The economy was working fairly well in spite of COVID and the “15 days to slow the spread” two year shutdown.

So economically, it is not hard to predict upcoming trouble. It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out nor does it take a prophecy teacher to do the same. It’s nice when someone can pull from numerous sources and put things together for us in one place, but again, that’s not prophecy. It’s still economic forecasting. It would be foolish to ignore that information.

Prophecy is in the Bible. However, in general, prophecy has its deliberate limitations because God doesn’t tell us everything about what He plans. Jesus, Paul, Peter, John and others provided us insight, with some specifics, into what society would look like overall as the end of the end times approached. In 2 Timothy 3:1-5, which we’ve gone over many times, Paul provides details into what people would be like as the end approached. That wouldn’t happen overnight. Paul is noting the results of incremental changes that would occur within society and we’ve seen those incremental changes in earnest since Obama’s first (of three), terms as President. While the changes certainly were occurring before he became POTUS, things significantly increased in frequency and impact when he took the reins and I believe it’s because he hates the United States as much as he does and loved nothing more than to help destroy this country in order that globalists could take it down so that the USA would be extremely powerless as the final global order came to fruition. Of course, it was God that has allowed this to occur for His purposes and glory.

We have a million and one things happening throughout society today that are acting as jackhammers to the Constitution, overwhelming society in general in order to drastically change it. All of it is Marxist in origin. LGBTQ+ and their “pride” flag that flies all over – what other culture or special interest group has a flag that we are supposed to put up and admire? If white people or straight folks had a flag, you can bet it would be burned as often as the Left burns the American flag.

We have an ongoing war in Ukraine vs Russia and Ukraine is getting the worst end of it, while Zelenskyy gets extremely wealthy and a continued push for more war leading to nuclear armaments and more countries involved. I believe this is a fulfillment of Matthew 24 (wars and rumors of wars).

We have our own government continuing to send millions upon millions upon millions to Ukraine while sending a paltry $700 to Maui survivors. Moreover, it appears that Maui’s government (likely in cahoots with some branch of the USA’s federal government), is doing everything they can to literally steal the land of Maui right under the feet of the people of Maui who have owned that land and lived their for generations. So much dishonesty, illegality, criminal conspiracy and more that seems to go unchecked.

Beyond this we have a very relaxed culture where justice itself is concerned in America. Crowds of young people – “flash mobs” – run rampant through stores, stealing whatever they want. Outside those stores homeless people live, defecate and do drugs right on the streets. Theft is up. Rape is up. Murder is up in many areas of this country and the Left continues to chant, “Defund the Police!”

COVID lock-downs destroyed the supply chain as well as people’s lives and that continues. In fact, the CDC, in spite of their claims regarding the efficacy of the CV jab have proven to be liars. But they continue to push another booster for people and children as young as 6 months of age and warn of potential upcoming mask and lock-down mandates. The absurdity is nearly beyond belief but so it goes.

Fear campaigns are gearing up for the new Nipah virus out of India that allegedly kills 3/4 of the people it infects. Quick, get a vaccine for it! In the meantime, mask up, social distance and lock down as well because it’s coming for you. Frankly, I’m so over it all. If I contract something that kills me, oh well. It’s not as though the LORD is somehow on vacation when that happens.

CBDCs are on the way because they don’t want us to have the freedom to use our cash anyway we want to use it. The only way they can control that is to force us into a system where cash is no longer king and is fact, outlawed, in favor of digital currency where everyone is tied to the Internet of Things; where all transactions are tracked and traceable. Why does any bank or financial institution need to know HOW or WHERE I spend my hard-earned money? It’s no one’s business, much less a bank’s or the governments.

We have more names coming out regarding visiting Epstein’s Island. It’s an interesting set of names including Noam Chomsky, who, in responding to queries about it, stated essentially it was no one’s business at all. Really? But the banks should know about and be able to control every purchase I make? That’s somehow their business? Yet, Chomsky visited the island of a KNOWN pedophile and we should ignore it?

I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. What’s happening in the world IS due to prophecy, yes. However, all the jot and tittles that are highlighted are more often within the realm of economic news than prophesy. They might be connected in some way, but it also may simply be the fallout from prophetic events that could create any number of reactions.

So the Bible outlines what society will look like at the end of the end and specifically John details very specific events during the Tribulation. Those who were given insight into prophetic events within Scripture often did not go into incredible detail or analysis because it was not provided to them and it was good enough for them to understand that things would be bad. Paul tried to define it for us by focusing on people’s character and attitudes in the end of the end times. Jesus did the same and also pointed out specifics in His Olivet Discourse, some of which have occurred while others have not yet occurred. Are we there yet? In some respect, yes. Others, we wait on.

John the apostle gives us the most detailed information found in New Testament Scripture in Revelation. However, even with that, interpretations vary and in the end, it really is difficult to know exactly what John means by some of what he shares. In fact, as I’ve stated before, we don’t even really know what John witnessed exactly? Did he see into the future and watch actual events unfold? If so, his vocabulary was a bit limited due to the age in which he lived. If he saw fighter jets and things like that, how would he describe them since he had absolutely nothing to compare them with during his day? Was he shown an allegorical set of images and “video” that would give him greater understanding based on his own reference? If that was the case, then it is clear that those images and video were meant to represent something that would not be clear until they actually happen.

In either case, we know that John was, at certain points, confused about what he saw and even the explanations given to him did not fully enlighten him. The same is true of the prophet Daniel and others. Prophecy – actual prophecy – that has not been fulfilled yet, in real life, may look somewhat different from what the prophets actually saw in the visions they were given. In fact, they may appear less spectacular and simply more pedestrian to us, who knows?

I’m coming to the conclusion that we Christians need to tighten our safety harnesses, prepare our minds for action and understand that things are going to worsen. God has shown no sign that He is willing to step in and correct the direction this world is headed in. Because of that, we can assume that the actual prophecies (not necessarily economic forecasting), related to the end times are unfolding.

As for me and my house, we are doing several things. First, we are using wisdom and hopefully discernment to determine what we need to do; stocking up, adopting an appropriate attitude, etc. Second, we are determined to live life rather than worry or hunker down. When I go out on an errand, I always take time to look around, enjoy the countryside, and hopefully see deer and other animals. I take time to absorb God’s Creation and the wonders in it. I love to watch the horses and cows eating in the fields. I enjoy watching dogs frolic and play with one other. I appreciate the beauty of deer and how graceful they are and how easily they can jump over a six foot fence.

I love my dogs and enjoy watching them play with one another, take them for walks, and watch them run around the yard. It’s enjoyable to see how many other people in the country here have goats, ducks, chickens, horses, cows and pigs. The world is alive with God’s bountiful blessings and there is no reason why we cannot enjoy them just because things are going south economically.

There’s danger too. Foxes and coyotes live here and they can take down a young calf. Venomous snakes exist as well as non-venomous. Just this week, I removed two rat snakes from our chicken barn. They love eggs. They can also kill a chicken. So I caught them and transported them a few miles away beyond the river. I’ve only seen a few copperheads and rattlesnakes live here as well, though I’ve never seen them. Venomous snakes like to avoid people if they can.

What I don’t do is lock myself in my house because a venomous snake might show up in my backyard one day and attempt to bite me. I also don’t lock down because of all the fire ants around or the hornets or possums or armadillos (from which a person can contract leprosy). There are dangers in life, but I don’t allow them to rob me of my life. The same holds true of the economy. I’m quite certain God will find a way if things continue to worsen.

In the USA, Christians are not yet being rounded up, pronounced guilty, hung on crosses and lit on fire as occurred in Nero’s day. There may come that time. I’m certainly not looking forward to it and anyone who is may have a problem. It usually stems from that individual wanting to “prove” to God how much they love Him and willingly suffer for Him. I’m not sure why God would need to see that physical proof when all He has to do is look into our hearts. He knows whether or not we love Him. He understands our weaknesses as well as our strengths. He doesn’t expect us to put ourselves deliberately in harm’s way in some misplaced effort to “prove” our love for Him. It may come to that and if/when it does, I’m also quite certain that God will provide me with the strength and grace to deal with it then. At the same time, I won’t be “proving” my love for Him. If it results in death, I will simply be dying according to preordained plan that He determined before the foundations of this earth were set.

Folks, if you have not succumbed to the fear that society is trying really hard to generate, you will find yourself rising above it. That doesn’t mean you ignore reality. It means you face reality with the knowledge that God is with you, that you are His and because you do not fear, you can live by the wisdom and discernment He provides you.

May we all enjoy the fruit of our relationship with God in Christ. May our wisdom and discernment deepen, may our one goal in life be to submit to His will, in order that we might give Him honor and glory.
