Value in Prophetic Discourse?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Theology and Politics from a Conservative, Biblical Perspective

Christians who say they are “pan-tribulationalists” because everything will pan out in the end (ha, ha), do themselves and Scripture a huge disservice. To them, people like me seem like we actually want bad things to happen or are believed to be creating the very things we warn about. If only they would take the time to study Scripture.

The Bible is roughly 33% prophetic discourse. While a good portion of that percentage has already been fulfilled, quite a bit yet remains to be filled, but since some has been fulfilled, the rest will also be fulfilled. For instance, while much of Daniel has been fulfilled, there remains some that has not and Daniel 9 is a good example of that. It is still yet future even from our perspective right now.

If we ignore prophetic portions of Scripture we are essentially not taking all of God’s Word seriously. Those who ignore prophetic portions of Scripture are essentially saying one of two things; either they don’t believe people can make sense of it or it scares them too much to study it. In some cases, it can be both.

God doesn’t want us confused by, or fearful of prophecy. He made it as plain as it can possibly be, but it requires us to study, to understand context and determine meaning based on what is actually meant by God regardless of how that truth makes us feel. In other words, we should read and understand God’s Word in its most plain and ordinary sense as we do everything else.

Because we are thousands of years removed from the original writings and times, what was happening then and what the people and cultures were like is far different from today. Certainly, during Nimrod’s time of Genesis 10-11, life was extremely different from the time prior to the Great Flood of Noah’s day (Genesis 6-9). In Nimrod’s day, everyone spoke the same language as just one example.

The times today are also far different from what has come before us because of advances in many areas including technology. If we don’t recognize that, it will be more difficult to make sense of prophetic Scripture. Prophecy is there for our blessing as well as our knowledge.

It may simply appear that what is happening throughout the world today is something coming solely from evil men and women who are exorbitantly wealthy and tremendously powerful enabling them to exert influence over many nations, including the United States of America. If we believe that it’s just simply a cohort of evil powerful people exercising their will to usher in the changes they want to see in society, we are then tempted to think that all we need is a powerful leader who can counteract and nullify what the ultra-rich, super-powerful people on earth are attempting to change and create. Of course, much of the world will follow Antichrist for these reasons.

If this is all that’s is happening (people doing bad things), then there clearly is a chance to change things, isn’t there? All it takes is a few good leaders people can get behind and through their leadership, regain the upper hand, thereby putting the globalist elite out of business (and in prison). However, it appears that the Bible has plenty to say otherwise about the end times. I’ve written and talked about it many times before and I’ll continue to do so because it needs to be said often.

Everything being done today by rich and powerful elites is designed to destroy the current global system, which includes economies, social systems, cultures and everything associated with it, to be replaced with a completely different world order, defined in their “great reset.” Their arrogance forces them to tell us their plans ahead of time. Leo Hohmann writes about this in his Globalists have another shock event planned in pursuit of the ‘Four Ds’: Digitization, Dehumanization, Destruction and Depopulation” article (worth the read).[1]

Globalists clearly got their ideas from Satan himself because by and large, those who want to control the destiny of this planet and everyone on it are dedicated to the works of Satan, the guy they refer to as “Lucifer.” To them, Lucifer is the “good” god and the God of the Bible is the “bad” God, who doesn’t want us to have wisdom and understanding. Saul Alinsky, in his book Rules for Radicals, believes Satan tried to bring wisdom to humankind but was thwarted by the God of the Bible. That’s really what happened in Eden, according to Alinsky. Alinsky and globalists follow Alinsky’s methods outlined in his book to overturn society. Meanwhile Alinsky remains in outer darkness (hell), until the Great White Throne of Judgment when he’ll be told why he is being sent to the Lake of Fire.

Individual books like Daniel, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Joel, Micah, etc., in the Hebrew Scriptures/Old Testament and portions of Matthew, Mark, Luke, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, Jude etc., and the entire book of Revelation provide tremendous information and insight into God’s actual plans for the future and how they will work out. Christians who deliberately avoid these areas of Scripture do a great disservice to themselves. Though God chose some 40 different human authors over a period of 1600 – 2000 years to write His Book, the message remains extremely cohesive, clear and exceedingly important to those who take the time to study it. It’s really that simple.

For example, today, we hear more and more about the possibility of nuclear war or what some are calling World War III. Hohmann speaks to this in the linked article below. Never before since WWII have the nations seemed to be preparing for something that will ultimately annihilate a huge percentage of humanity throughout the world if it happens. Why is there so much talk about it? Why is there so much seeming preparation for it? No one likes thinking about it. No one likes discussing the possibility and there are those who refuse to accept that it could occur, so they ignore it. Yet, Scripture looks ahead of our day and warns about the tremendous loss of life in the book of Revelation from famines, wars and pestilences, not to mention martyrs. Are we to take those warnings as hyperbole or reality?

What if God is allowing preparations to be made because nuclear war will be one of the things that will bring about the death of our current system so that Satan can set up his new world order (through human agents), that will last for a short seven years (The Tribulation/Great Tribulation), before God physically ends it with His return? Is this a possibility? If His Word is true, it certainly appears that war will break out, if not before the coming Tribulation, certainly during it and again at the end of it, just prior to Christ’s return.

So why ignore the possibility of nuclear war when it fact, it may actually be more than a possibility, allowing Satan to flesh out his coming temporary kingdom? His spiritual son, Antichrist, will reign for at least three and a half years (the second half of the seven-year Tribulation), and life on earth will become hell on earth. Why would Christians not want to know this as if not knowing it means it won’t happen?

We Christians need to focus and realize that events happening throughout the world are not simply things created by powerful people bent to Satan’s will. Ultimately, it is what God is allowing in order that the final Gentile human-led global government will rise, be ruled by a person completely filled with Satan, and who will destroy as many followers of Jesus as possible and attempt to keep Jesus from returning to this earth. All of this will be brought out into the open so that the entire universe in the spiritual and physical realms will witness the destruction of evil by our Holy God Almighty who reigns eternally and comes with a sword to judge the earth.

Consider just one section of Jesus’ Olivet Discourse of Matthew 24:6-13.

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. (Matthew 24:6-8 ESV)

Jesus took the time to point out that at the end of human history wars and rumors of wars would be significant (v 6). He also noted that famines and earthquakes would happen throughout the earth. Are we there yet? Certainly showing signs of it. However, He also said that this should not “alarm” us regarding all of the things that will signal the end of the end times, because they must occur (cf Matthew 24:25). He told us ahead of time so we can mentally, physically and spiritually prepare. However, the actual end will not have arrived when these things do occur.

Within the past four to five years, there have been constant rumors of wars. Trump got us out of wars. The military complex didn’t like that because it hurts their budget. Out with Trump. In with Biden.

Biden wasted no time at all once gaining the Oval Office and the USA was back in wars between Ukraine/USA and Russia. Ukraine is filled with Nazis and many of them are fighting against Russian troops. The low-info thinkers/voters in the USA have no qualms about supporting Ukraine’s Nazi fighters because that’s what the mockingbird media tells them to do. The same people are horrified by alleged Nazis in the USA though. It makes zero sense because these people do not think for themselves. They swallow their programming nicely.

Since Biden took office, the talk of war not peace is the prevailing attitude. Democrats have actually become the war party now and they see no problem with that position.

But regarding Christians, if Christ took the time to warn us what would be occurring at the end of the age prior to His return, should we not be paying attention to that reality? Of course we should, not so that we are frozen in fear, but simply aware of possibilities and to understand our options.

The year 2024 does not look good at all from where I sit, but maybe that’s just me. Numerous sources are stating that the price of a barrel of crude oil will likely rise to between $120 and 150 per barrel from the current $95. If/when it does, everything else will be affected in price. Everything. Have you tried to prepare? Have you done what you can to provide for your family? I’m sure God will help fill in the blanks but He expects us to do what we can, in my opinion.

Even with the many miracles that God performed in Scripture, either through the prophets, the apostles or God the Son, notice how many times people had to do something in order to receive God’s miracle. The woman who fed Elijah had to actually make the bread (1 Kings 17). It didn’t make itself. The paralytic healed by Jesus had to actually get up, take his bed roll and walk (John 5:8-16). There are a ton of examples of how people participated in miracles by actually doing something beyond believing, though clearly, their faith was the first necessary step. It starts and ends with faith in God, doesn’t it? He asks and expects us to do something based on our faith in response.

May the Lord increase our faith. May He also provide insight, wisdom and discernment to not only understand these days, but to not shrink from what is occurring throughout the world and learn what He would have us do.
