The cover on this says it all; with a quote from Pittacus Lore stating this is “The toughest female vigilante since Lisbeth Salander”, something which I whole heartedly agree with.

Wallis is adopted at a young age by an American family and has lived a privileged life – until she decides at 16 to live on the streets and be rebellious. A chance meeting means she blindly stumbles upon some information about her family which encourages her to find out more.

To start with I thought this was a run of the mill book. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Wallis is a tough edged girl; she’s very practical and hands on. I liked her comradeship with her fellow street dwellers, and the fact that Wallis has become their leader and has standards and integrity is a good mix.

Dark Eyes has several surprising and shocking twists, along with loads of butt kicking action and an adrenaline pumping storyline. It’s fast paced and violent from the start. I sincerely hope there’s more from Wallis, and William Richter has jumped on my Authors to Read hitlist
